Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I found this on Yahoo..."A-School" will be in Great Lakes.
GSM is the rate for gas turbine mechanic. It means that you will be working in the engine room, operating and maintaining the gas turbine engines of a frigate, destroyer, or cruiser. You will be part of the SNIPE (super naturally intelligent propulsion engineer) community.

My daughter heads to BC on 11/30. She is going in as a CM (construction mechanic). She is extremely excited.
Dallas Mom son leaves today actually flys out tommorrow November 1 and other moms?
My son got to BC on November 1 - do you have his ship and division numbers yet?
My son did the same....originally next year...then opt'd for as soon as they could...3 weeks to go.
My boyfriends leaving the 23rd doing Mass Com, he picked novemeber and all i could think was he's missing three great holidays! this is gonna be hard but a good expeirence i hope!
He leaves Nov 23rd. I might have to miss it if I go overseas myself for work
my son leaves the 7th but will actually swear in and leave out on the 8th of Nov. for G.L. boot camp. Wow this means they will be there together!! And Graduate the same day !!! so how do you feel? I have not been on here much.... 'im in shock! I can't sleep and can't believe he is leaving.I know God will take care of him and i'm very proud , but it still hurts.

I see that your boy left just a few days ago... My son leaves the 7th for bootcamp first, then he will be a aviation handler. I also noticed your comment was fifteen minutes ago and its 5:30 in the mornng CA. time but I CANT sleep, I wanna cry but im inshock that he is actually leaving in two days!
