I see some people have heard from their recruits but Ship06 Div 19 to my knowledge has heard nothing. I am impatiently waiting everyday. Let us know when you get your.
By now, I am praying that all moms in Ship 9 Div 12 have recieved a letter from their SR. We received our first "real" letter on Thursday. It was a very early Christmas gift and life couldn't have been better. I learned that they got to wear their blue digi camos for dinner one night and our son was issued his BCG's. He said that wearing his camos makes him feel awesome but wearing his BCG's makes him feel like a nerd. Overall, I feel that the letter was very upbeat and positive. This makes me very happy and relieved. He thinks that they ended up with great RDC's. Now, my next prayer is that I get to hear his voice soon. Did anyone else get any fun and/or interesting news in their letter?
well i hope everyone in our div has received a call by now. i don't understand why some div's have gotten very long calls and i got 3 min 11 seconds. it was great to hear from him though. he sounded very happy. he had no complaints at all but i didn't get any info either. i'm dying to know when battlestations is? if anyone knows when our boys go could they please send me a private message. unfortantely i have relied on this website for ALL of my information. his recruiter didn't prepare us at all and this website has been a wealth of information... thanks in advance....
I asked and he did not know. I will let you know if I find out. :)
thanks.....
I received a great letter from my son one Thursday. He said everything was lots better than he expected. He also said the officers over his division were for the most part awsome, which has to make things a lot better. Now for the sad part. I have had my phone glued to me since he left. Went to a indoor water park with my younger daugther this weekend laid my phone down for 20 min anf miissed 8 phone calls. He called everyone he knew a number for in our family and got no one. Sad day needless to say. All I do know is I will never lay my phone down not for 2 min so I will not miss another phone call. Sounded fine in his message. His wife talked with his recruiter after we missed all our calls and he said that once the first call comes in we can expect to get them about every week so something to look forward to. He did say that Battlestation would be in the 7th week. Hope to have more to share soon. Godd luck to all recruits.
cadams i'm sooo sorry you missed your call. i did get my call this week but it was only 3 min 11 sec and i'm pretty sure the last 11 sec i was actually talking to myself. i think he had already hung up. =( hopefully we will get more calls soon.the letters are wonderful but i want to hear the sound of his voice.it's wonderful that you have heard that batttlestations will be the 7th week. now if we could just figure out what day??? i don't want to miss the call after its over.... even for work....
The call seemed to cut short. Said because they were "the worst" and that's when I heard the frustration and disappointment. Of course we know they are the best!
So sorry about the miss. Wish I could make that better for you. I bet we were never perfect anyhow. Glad the letter was upbeat. Crossing fingers for the (us) all.
andrea87 glad to have you here. unfortunately i rarely have any info to share my son sends little to no info. so most of what i learn is from this website and particularly our div. hope your boyfriend is feeling better and maybe they will earn a reward call. i hope for that everyday.....
Ladies I am hoping for more info on Thurs...no mail VETERANS DAY...Friday. I sent a "questionaie" off this site yesterday fishing for more! Had a few tragic deaths (really....4) this week in my SRs life. Feeling a bit disjointed. Planning on giving him that info after graduation.
My husband and I flew to another state last Thursday to visit family. My greatest fear was that our son was going to call while we where in the air. I changed my voicemail message letting him know that we were in the air and if there was any chance for him to call back, please do so and if he missed talking to me to call his sister and/or his aunt. As soon as we landed I turned on my cell phone and found a voicemail message. Then, about 2 minutes later I received a text from our daughter saying that she missing her brother's call by less than a minute. I broke down into tears on the plane. When we got off the plane I went to the restroom and took my cell phone, which happend to be on vibrate mode, out of my back pocket so that it wouldn't fall into the toilet and put it in my purse. As soon as I could, I took my phone from my purse and found that I missed another call from 847 area code. Thank God my husband was with me because I broke down again. I can't believe that I missed two calls from my son. After I composed myself I called my sister-in-law and he did talk to her. I am very thankful that at least he got to talk to someone in the family. I don't ever want to miss another call.
