Hey, everyone. I haven't got my letter yet, so I'm not sure if this is the right group, But, my son is in spec. ops, too. It's going to be great to get to know you all.
Our son is i this unit too, I am a little confused about if we all are on the same site, I know one other mom and Lydia wants to join
because her sons best friend is spec ops also. I started a discussion group but don't see it, so we can all meet here. The spec ops are suppose to be all together, I got my letter yesterday, he said there are 77 guys in the div. but he barely knows anyone cause they are not allowed to talk or look up. But that was probably written several days ago. I mailed him my first letter.Where are you from, we are in Kirkland Wa. close to Seattle.
Cindy,

I just figured it out. I think your discussion is on the Boot Camp page. Mine is on the PIR page for our group. Heather is Lydias friend.
hoooooyaaaaaaaaa - I love that yall are here!!! Heather my dear friends yes R is this PIR group. Im sure others will come along too. Tell your boys in your letters to them to tell their moms about Navy 4 Moms.... That is what I did and woow we wound up with a bunch of us!!! Your boys are gonna go waaay up and waaay down in their calls and letter. The RDC are REALLY tough on them the first 5 weeks.... B said he really liked and respected them. He said they yell a lot but they say funny things to them and they laugh and then get in trouble again. Toooo funny some of the stories B told me!! Ill share some here later..... HUGS Special moms!!!! Oh B is Rescue Swimmer.... I know R is too --------- AmyB what about your Rct?? cindy --- yours is EOD right?? My brother was an officer of EOD...
My son is EOD
What does EOD stand for, T is going for salvage diver, he will be 19 in Jan. he just graduated last May from highschool. His buddy who is a year older finished the dive training on Oct 28th. It has been so good to ask him questions through this process, it is really intense but he in the end loves it! Lydia you have been such a source of encouragement, I am not on my computer much but I can't wait to get all the updates, and info! Thanks
cindy ----Explosive Ordanance and Demolition... my brothers guys use to dive under the ships and sweep for mines before any high ranking officials or dignataries went on board.

cindy and Amy --- both are very tough training! very!!!! SEALS, Rescue Swimmer and Divers have the highest atrition rates in the Navy. Sooo pour on the prayers and slug down a margarita or three... hahaha --- us Specs moms have it tough! Im only being honest because I cant pull wool over any Spec moms eye! I refuse. You have to know what they are getting into.. On my old PIR 818 site, Im still daily active with about 6 of us moms. 3 are in SWCCK (they are the assistants if you will to the SEAL teams) One of them DORd (dropped on request) Now he is in the fleet as undesignated and going be a paint chipper. Not kewl She never comes on our 818 site anymore. I wish she would cause we love her and support each other no matter who makes it through their programs and who does not! Got two that are divers (one failed his test but instead of dropping him they let him retake it) and then we have 3 RSS rescue swimmers including my son who class up to this next candidate school on the 29th...anywho sorry for longwindedness hahahahaha --- Ill not lie to yall - so if you have questions or concerns you know where to find me!
So your son is at training right now, or had he finished? How old is your son, I am sure Ours never used the EOD as it sounds much more dangerous then Navy Diver!
Hi Cindy, my boyfriend is also going for salvage diving.
Got my letter yesterday, and this is the right group. How's everyone holding up?
Hellooooo. I am so excited to have noticed this group. I don't know when you started it but Thank You !!! My son is also in this Div. and I am thrilled to connect with you all. I must say, when I read the post that said they can't speak or even look up, that made me feel uncomfortable. It sounds so sad and lonely. I know that is the mom in me and I know it is all for a good reason but I'm just letting it out....I am so proud of my son and all of the training he has done prior to BC. They really trained hard before leaving for GL. My son had an absolutely amazing mentor and he met the most wonderful group of guys. They were so supportive and encouraging to each other which is indicative of the wonderful teamwork they have in spec.ops..My son is contracted for Rescue Swimmer. His buddies were SEALS,EOD and SWCCK. Now that he is in BC, I miss them all...they touched my life forever, a special group of Angels....
Hi GG,Glad to have other moms on board! I know our son trained so hard also it was like his job,No matter how hard it is to here what they are going through, I know he was so ready to get started, the last two months were hard with most of his friends in college, He really wants to do this, so you can't help but be proud, but scared. it has been neat to see how many people have asked about him and how many other Navy people are out there. what state are you from, did your son swim in highschool?
