I am glad I am not alone in the excitement to see our kids preform ladies!!! Dana- I am sure the Navy is helping your son knock off any rust he may have had, besides I am pretty sure there was some type of audition involved to prove they can play, so he must not have been too bad at all. Yeah Band!!! and kudos to the Choir too!!
Good Morning, Performing Recruit Moms just wanted to let you all know your kids ROCK and so do YOU!!!

Dana
I was excited to recieve my first letter yesterday, My son is the mail PO for the division so he gets to know everyones names when he passes out the mail.. He says he is doing pretty good. The food isn't too bad, he had Catfish one night, and being fro Florida he loves catfish. I hope your son's and daughters are doing well, god bless them all!!!

Stacey
Still no mail for me or my son-in-law. It got too late for him to do the paperwork to be a Thanksgiving sponsor, so since he is a life member of the VFW, he is still driving up to GL and meeting up with her at the VFW family home. What Mom or wife could say no to that? I just really wish that the postman would be good to us.

I got my little GL tree yesterday and got a few gifts for under it (mostly candy) today at the grocery. They had all the baking supplies prominently displayed. Really made me miss my SR, she loves to bake. She won a ribbon for baking bread at the Texas State Fair when she was 10. I bet she's the only one in this PIR who can say that. LOL
Still no letter for me. But I am waiting.. Dream about how he is doing. I know he is not much a person who chats but one short letter would be nice. Glad you got one. Makes you smile I know.
I think it is so cool he will see his wife during thenaksgiving dinner. I hope for my 3 week phone call oday.
Hi Ladies,
my daughter is in ship 02 div 905 graduating Dec. 17th.
any of you find any pictures posted of their training yet?
Jeanne
Jeanne,
I keep looking but havent seen any yet. I have even gone to youtube but nothing there yet.
Stacey
My daughter is PIR 12/17 and is ship 02 div 905. Soprano, blonde, glasses. Haven't heard from her. I'm going to be on the look out for our SR's in the pictures of 11/24 and 12/03 PIR's because I think they will be performing then.
My daughter was in the 900 preforming div as well when she was at bootcamp. She was in the choir. They do preform at a couple of PIR's before their own as well as their own. Sometimes they also get to preform at other events off base like at ball games, parades or other events. If anyone has any questions or would like tips on where to sit for PIR so that you can see the choir just let me know. Also, if you order ribbons from me to wear to PIR please let me know if your sailor is in band or choir and I will add a music note to each of your ribbons. The GREAT thing that you may have to look forward to is that you may get a chance to see your SR in their dress uniform before you go to PIR. Since they preform at earlier PIR ceremonies often pics are posted and you may see your recruit. I even went to the group who had PIR 2 weeks before my daughters and asked several in that group to take pics of the choir and come back and post them. They would make me a very happy mom and so they did. :-) I even printed the pic with my daughter right in the front and sent a copy to her. She was shocked that I found a pic of her lol.
Thanks, LaLa, for the information. I think I'll do the same thing with the earlier PIR groups.
There are recent pics of PIR 11/12 but I am thinking those might be to soon for our recruits. I will be looking anxiously, at the next few weeks postings of pics. :)
