Hi moms.  My daughter grads 12/3/10 and I'm missing her something fierce!  Has anyone received a second telephone call?  Seems this division has less contact than others - a friend's daughter went to boot 2 weeks after mine and she's received letters and phone calls sooner than i did.  Anyone here from Michigan?

I have heard from several different souces that Great Lakes shuts down from Dec 17 to Jan 2. One of these souces was my sons recruiter, he said that he was at Great Lakes for schooling at Christmas and he was able to go home. My question is will they start thier A School after PIR or will they be put on hold? My son got to Great Lakes Oct 7 and was on hold for a week or so waiting for the rest of the Div to arrive. That's why they are a push Div, instead of boot being 8 weeks they are doing it in like 6 or 6 1/2 weeks. I can understand your concern being so far away. I am lucky in that I am only acouple hours South of Great Lakes, I could drop everything at a moments notice and go get him.
I got a phone call from my son today!!! It was so great to hear his voice. We only got to talk for about 12 mins but, it was so great. He said they have live fire and gas chamber this week, and that they probably would not be doing Battle Stations until the week of PIR.
wow last friday ship 09 div 009 and div 010 have a call home and yesterday div 015 have a phone call home where is div 16 and 17???????????? i havent get any call yet but the div 18 got a call home???
This was my 2nd call from him.
how long have he been in boot?
He got to Great Lakes Oct 7 but, was on hold for a week or so waiting for the rest of his Div to arrive. He is in a push Div, they are doing boot in 6 weeks rather than 8.
my boyfriend is in push div too and doing the boot camp for 6 1/2 weeks... i only got one call and he left oct.5th and i told him his div sucks because they can never get a call home... lol but he knows me... never really meant any bad thing i say... hope to get a call again soon :) and hope when im the one that's in i get as much as call that i can have :) good luck to our love ones in boot camp right now see yah in graduation
