Hello to all you wonderful gals...

Just curious....how many of you moved to Connecticut while your guy was going to school there?  If you did what was it like?  If you didn't what was that like?

Thanks!      : - )

I've been dreaming of moving up there while my husband's been in school!! But... It just never worked out and he'll be done soon :( We even looked at a temporary apartment 3 miles from base.

Let me know if you do and how it goes!! :)
I think I want to....but it's so hard to decide. My thoughts are I have a choice to see him when I know in the near future the choice to see him will be gone...so it's like I want to take it while it's there! Still deciding but I will let you know! ; )
We did but this was in 2003 and the schools were longer then, so the navy paid for us to move. Also after talking to his instructors we knew that there would be a bunch of Ct boats needing people and were pretty positive that is where we would be staying. We did end up getting on a boat out of CT so it worked out. If we had to do it now with the shorter schools and having to pay oop I would not go until he got orders.
Yeah I have to agree...I have heard though that after 6 months of school that the Navy will pay for you to move? Is this still true?
The school has to be at least 22 weeks long for them to pay for the move. I am not sure how they break them up now though. I do remember they would not pay for us to move until after BESS. So I guess what you would need to figure out is how long the schools are after BESS.
Okay thanks for the info! Hope you are having a most wonderful day. : )
We've decided to wait and I'll join him when he finishes school. No sense moving twice in a years time. We'll see how the distance works for us! Good luck!
Thanks! Same to you!

Yay! That's wonderful! Let us know how its going

That's wonderful news Kate. Thank you. I was really hoping for this...and I am hoping that he is in Groton most of the time so I can stay close! ; )
Yeah that's sorta what I was thinking...but then I hear they have to be there 6 months for them to pay to move me and if he has to transfer somewhere like GA or WA then it will just be a lot...so I think right now we hope that his rate is whatever stays in Groton for the school the longest! lol.

At first I was iffy about moving but now I am actually starting to get excited about it!

I think you are making a great move Kate...and don't be sorry for sharing! I like getting to know new people and we all are here to support eachother, so share away!

Have a good night!

OH PS...I have a brief summary of each rate ET STS and FC and the school lengths and location, do you have any more info???
Awesome thanks!
