For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

SON ARRIVED AT BOOTCAMP ON NOV 3, 2010 - LOOKING FOR OHTERS??
Today is my first day on this website. I see that is has alot of good information on it. It could not have come to me at a better time either because I have cried alot this weekend. My son, Ray, arrived at bootcamp on Nov 3, 2010. I know it has not been even 2 weeks yet, but I am having a really yough time not having any contact with my son. We are very close and I have never been away from him like this. I also found out that his division will not graduate until Jan 7th. That is very disappointing to me and his sister. I did read a little about the "ADOPT A SAILOR" for Christmas!!! Does anyone have any good information on that? I would give anything to be able to see him even if it was only a few hours.....
If anyone has any helpful information - I would appreciate any information, encouraging words from other moms that know what I am going through, or even someone that there son or daughter may be in the same group my son is in!!

Keep your phone by you at all times.... My son left on Nov 4th and he tried to call today- I can't believe I missed his call- I have been crying for the rest of the day! I am very close to my son too and this has been so hard! And no one really understands like us how it feels! I still haven't received the form yet with his info, when did you get his? It sounds like my son should be in the same group.

I did receive his information letter on November 8th. It was more of a pre printed letter that he filled in a few blanks on. I am surprised that you don't have that letter yet!!! It had his address on it. Do you have that yet??
This has definitely been the hardest things I have ever had to do with one of my children. He is my oldest and we have been very close. I wonder if our sons are in the same group. Do you know his ship and division number yet? Ray's is ship 12 div 034. He did also write that the grad date would be Jan 7th, which was very diappointing to me.
Where are you located? I am in middle Tennessee.

Did you get any information on your son yet? I hope you did to ease you a little. This is so hard to go through and no one can understand if they have never had a child leave like this and go into the military. I will say a special prayer for you.

I got the form today! Yeah! He is div 038- I agree with you that no one understands!! It's funny because his father was a military man and he is not getting how I feel either. It is the hardest thing to go through!!

I am so glad for you that you got the letter today. It is not much but it is a start. I am hoping everyday the mailman brings me something. Who ever thought that your mailman could be the one to deliver your greatest gift. I have the greatest husband but I know he doesny understand either. He does support me though and tries really hard.
Hang in there. I am so thankful this site is here. It is a great tool to help us. Even though none of us have a clue who we are talking to - God has allowed us to find other moms that are experiencing the same thing we are at the very same time in life. It is amazing how He really does pull us through. I am trying to put all of my faith in God and know He is making sure my son is ok. I also pray for all of the other young sons and daughters and moms that are having a hard time. I just pray they have God in their life to lead them to either this site or someone that they can relate to.
Have you received "the box" yet? If not, prepare yourself because it is tough to open. I didn't even do anything with his clothes in it for a few days after I received it. We have two dogs and they kept going to it - they knew it was his.

I did get the box last Tuesday. I didn't cry as much as I thought I would, but it is still sitting in his room empty. I finally washed the clothes, that was hard. I don't think I have prayed so much and had so much faith as I have since the week before he left. It is amazing!

My son arrived at boot camp on Veterans day. We havent heard from him (knew we wouldnt yet) but I was wondering how I will find out what his division is, what PIR group etc?
I was also wondering if anyone could tell me what the normal schedule is during boot? What time they are up -eat - and when they have leisure time etc. It would be nice to know that during my day I can place him somehwere in his--atleast until I can talk with him.

Hey... my husband arrived in Great Lakes the day BEFORE Veteran's Day... from reading a bunch of stuff on this site, it seems:
-The division, etc. will come within 1-2 weeks in an informational packet.
-I have heard two things about when they wake up... most web sites say 0600 but at his swearing in ceremony the Coast Guard person giving the talk said they wake up at 0430. Other than that, it varies by day what they are doing. Lights out is 2200. They have "holiday" on Sundays where they are given free time to write letters, etc.
This site is awesome... I am like you, it makes me feel better to know a little about what he's doing!
