I haven't seen much posted from this DIV. I had a letter yesterday and my son is good, they did get their athletic flag and gas chamber is this week.  Did anyone else get a letter or has any phone calls been made. I hope they are doing ok.

Whew...got my weekly letter today. Took 2 extra days to get here this week. My son sounds good. He said he is enjoying it so much. Said the division did really well on the Marlinspike with only 3 safety violations (said most divisions goes into the double digits on their hits) so they were proud. Said they all passed their personal inspections and weapon turnover inspections. Hit the 100 push-up mark this week, so he was proud of that. The closer we get to PIR, the more impatient I'm getting. Need to keep busy....
Woohoo!! Just got a call from my son. He earned a call home and a candy bar for getting a perfect score on a test. He sounds tired but said he had a good day, and really likes what he's doing. Said they had their pictures taken, and didn't have gas chamber until next week. He wanted to talk about me finding a good place to get some Chicago pizza while on liberty after PIR. He misses that the most. (of food) He said his daily routine feels normal now and he loves staying busy. All in all...a good call. I had to let him go...so he could call his dad and sisters. I wanted to be selfish and take all the time myself but...I just couldn't.
Oh Julie, I am so happy for him to have gotten at perfect score and you to get a call! Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I am about to go crazy tonite - I just miss him soooooo much right now. I think it has to do with Thanksgiving next week. What test did he get the perfect score on? And still no gas chamber - I was really hoping that was over. For some reason - that just freaks me out. Thanks again for sharing!
He didn't say what test it was. I think the closer it gets to PIR the more I miss him...because it's just out of reach. I hope their ready for our momma bear hugs!
Awesome Julie!!! That is so exciting. My daughter said she is having strange food cravings, some even for foods she never liked!! lol
Julie, So happy you got a phone call i got a letter yester day!!
our letter came yesterday and my daughter also sounded great, much better than even the last letter. she mentioned getting to listen to some music as well, from the RDC's iphone. (this was the same RDC that set the pop-tart on fire..lol) she mentioned the flags they've gotten. She sent back the question/answer sheets that i printed off from here..they were really great. i watched the youtube videos on "Navy Boot Camp" put out by the Navy i guess..it was a two part video..long but really interesting..also there is one on BS21, CNN had done a story on the facility and the awesome technology used to "create" BS21..if you havent seen these..do..really cool. she enjoyed Marlinspike, said they had holiday routine Veterans Day but spent from 0600 to 1300 (6am to 1pm) on cleaning, folding and making sure everything would be perfect for inspection...dedicated..:-) mentioned the 9mm pistol simulation, she said nobody knows what PIR means so i guess they dont use that acronym.. did live fire on the gun range, drill inspection, another test (i guess PFA), got more shots, fire fighting this past week and their group pics are coming up..she was unsure of which day. lots of info this letter...cant believe its so close now...cant wait to see her in uniform... >>
Thanks everyone for the info!! His Dad found the letter and now have the password!! Chandler sent a letter to his Dad this time and he seems so grown up! He is really having a great time and he can't believe how hard he is working!! I think he is proud!! He claims this division is awesome so lets hope!!! Still no call though!!
