Hi all,

My son will be going on to "A" school in Charleston in the Nuclear Power Program.  Just wondering if any others will be in the Nuke program following PIR hopefully on 1/7/11.

Has anyone had a sailor in that program before?

Thanks,

Val

My daughter is heading there after PIR
Hi Val, my son is also going to Nuke school after Basic Training
My daughter will be going there after PIR. Are they grad n go? Do you guys have any idea when they will leave for Charleston?
My son was told before he went to BC that he is grad n go and they would be leaving quickly. There is a story from Lydia on the PIR 1/7/11 site on her experience of hanging at the airport the day after PIR with her son and a bunch other sailors until they left. They had to be at the airport at 4am and did not leave til the afternoon. I am hoping in a letter my son will have more specific info but he may not know times for awhile. I am basing my plans on them all leaving on Saturday and hoping it is no earlier so we will at least have Friday afternoon until 8:00 together like everyone else. I can't wait to go to Charleston to visit - what a beautiful place!!
We went on a cruise this summer which left from Charleston. I got a chance to have a brief visit and it is a great place!
A Cruise from Charleston!! Sounds lovely! Can't wait to go down for many a weekend getaway. My daughters and I have been checking out the lovely Inns in this historic area. I am thankful we are an easy drive down from Richmond, VA. It sure will be much warmer for them than Great Lakes ( which has a low of 15 degrees and possible snow later this week)
Charleston is really nice and it's not too far from us in Florida
Hi Val, how do you have information for A school already? I haven't got anything regarding A school for my husband yet and his graduation day is also 1/7/11. Thanks!
New SR wife is your husband also Nuke if so I'm sure he and David know each other beeing in the same unit, if he is let me know his name and I'll ask David if he knows him
Greetings,

I just spoke to my son and he said he is grad n go but will be leaving on Saturday 1/8. He will have leave after the graduation until the evening and can spend that time with us. He will be reporting to the airport in the early am on Saturday and leaving to Charleston sometime on Sat. If this is the case then we will plan on spending Saturday at the airport with all these guys/gals for however long of a time they have to wait to leave. It'll be fun to meet some of them who will be together down in SC. My son told me to wait til 12/7 to book flights as he has to pass a test that day to make sure he graduates. I will book the Marriott but wait a couple weeks on flights. It was so good to hear from him again and I am so proud that his Div is doing so well on inspections that they are getting extra phone calls. We need to keep encouraging them all to work together. I am glad to be able to ask him questions directly and get info first hand. Blessings to you and your husband - I know this time apart for the 2 of you must be very hard. How old is your little guy in the tiger suit? How is he doing with his daddy being away? Have him keep coloring pictures and sending them to warm your husbands heart.
Val you are s lucky to have talked to him, I'll grateful you are passing the info to us.
Our son will be attending school in SC for Nuke, and graduating on 1/7/11:) I am flying in on the 6th
