Hello! My husband just left last week - I'm trying to figure out how to get everything arranged so I can move over right before or after BC. He's AECF and has A School there in GL. Anyone have any advice, or want to meet up?

I'm doing fine - just a little awkward but I keep reminding myself that it's only two months, only two months. I talked to him on Sunday! Oh, it was so good to hear his voice. His PIR is January 7th, just what I expected it to be. So I think I'll be moving out there the first week of January. I'm sure it will be the same for me, living alone for a while before he gets Live Ashore (I'm just going to think of it as dating, when we didn't live together). We should get together out there! A friend in Chicago is going to check out the Woodland apts for me to see what they are like - I'll look into the Forest Pointe as well, but they are a little more expensive!
Hello ladies! Who else is tempted to collaborate a tutorial on how to move to GL? Haha
This is one of our favorites as far as extended stays go, and like I said, they give you monthly and military discounts. Be sure when you move your husband changes your BAH paperwork.

Ok, I'll look into this place. The other place I'm looking at is The Woodlands on Green Bay - have you heard anything about that? It's only a mile and a half from the base! Thanks for the tip about changing BAH, I was just wondering about that.
The Woodlands are very nice. I drive by there a lot and I think the houses are really nice. Great Lakes isn't the best place on earth, and is very near a lot of gangs, but as long as you stay off of Martin Luther you should be fine. :)
Hi Laurel

I'm new to N4M and my husband leaves in 2 weeks for boot camp, but yes I live in Fullerton if you want to chat before you leave. I would love to talk to someone who is already going through boot camp and everything.

Lisa
Lisa, my husband has gone through boot camp; if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer. He went through BC in July/August/September and I experienced a lot, so I could probably help, if you need anything. Add me as a friend and we can message if you want.
I am in Orange County and have been looking for quite awhile for a Navy Wife to befriend! Are you still in SOC?

Oh no! I just moved. I'm in Northen CA for a week and then I'm moving to Illinois to see my husbad - I CAN"T WAIT!

What are you up to, is your husband stationed in SOC?
