Sheer excitement....One envelope, 2 letters...what a wonderful surprise after an incredibly challenging Thanksgiving...He sounds good...said a phone call should be coming soon so be ready...I hope everyone in our division heard from their recruit...
Yes, one envelope with letters to me and my husband, he said they yanked out his wisdom teeth, 2 shots and 20 minutes later they were out! He also said they get up at 4am and go to dive motivator, his buddy who just graduated in spec.ops told me that is a mile and a half walk,( he knows where ship 04 is ) Our son said all the letters and news is so important as it is terrible not having any link to the outside world,. His buddy said they get them at taps, which is right before bed, all and all he said that he is so glad to have processing over and basic started. I sooo hope we get a call soon!
Hey All
Has anyone received a phone call today?
No call here....thought today would be the day..sigh....still hoping..lol..
no call either, we went to a movie and held our phones on our lap, prepared to leave if the call came, maybe next week! Can't wait until Wed. when maybe more letters.
I know-I'm still hoping too!
I just searched and it came up Bonnie. I hope we don't confuse people.
It is a discussion forum under our PIR group
So it shows usually above the thread of the latest post on the PIR page
Hi; my son is also in ship 04 div 802 special ops, he is SWCC. I really enjoyed reading all the posts. My son N seems to be ok I received my letter the day after Thanksgiving. He said he caught the flu but he sounded very positive. He said they has their first PST he did not say when. I am not sure what regular site you are talking about. I am very new at all this. It is great though reading from other moms who's son's are together with mine. Should I go ahead and make my reservations? Also my son only put 4 people down for the graduation does anyone know if they allow more? What would happen If I lost my entry page does anyone know?
abitas - I have several moms from my PIR group back in June whose boys are currently in the SWCC training. Be sure that you visit our regular PIR site - all your questions have been answered on there... great info flows there. This is an offshoot but the actual PIR 01-07-2011 you will want to hang out at too.

Yes, Id say go ahead now and make your reservations. As far as more at grad. You can take more but they are not guaranteed a seat at the PIR. They have to wait outside and if there is room they will let them in. My sons PIR was HUGE and all the extra ppl did get to come in. Its just not guaranteed.
Actually abita I think you mean PFT and it is physical fitness test. They take 3 of these during boot camp and will be always working to improve their times. They do have a minimum time they must pass as well. They also must do a minimum number of push-ups and sit-ups. They also have a swim qualifying test they did in week 1 or 2. Each recruit is allowed to invite 4 guests. More can come, but they must wait until all the recruits invited guests are seated. My son's PIR had 13 divisions graduating but everyone got in...so it is something I wouldn't worry too much about. You don't really have an entry page...your recruit is responsible for writing down the names of the guests. The form letter does contain the password for you to get a parking pass so you might want to write that down somewhere.

I would really like to encourage you to also voice these questions in the group at large. You will find many of these questions are things that others share as well. While we want you to meet others in your divisions you will find that except for a few specific things based on the differences among RDCs the PIR group as a whole has way more similarities than differences.
