Hope to see you all on the actual PIR discussion area.... we need your thoughts and feeling and input there too! This is one BIG family made up of smaller ones. Letters will start to come pretty soon...
Hello ladies! I got another (the 2nd) letter today!! A phone call on sunday and a letter today!! Pure joy!
It sounds like they are having a little trouble in this group, though. My bf said they were supposed to get an hour phone call but because of "problems" they got it dropped to 10 minutes. He said he is definately the old guy there! He was given a job as yoeman. He said he enjoys it because it helps pass the time and he likes "helping the kids"!!

Hope you have all gotten more letters as well!! If we are lucky (or if they are?) they should be able to write again tomorrow!!

have a happy thanksgiving and a wonderful weekend mommas!!
Just heard in a letter (our second!) that our son is "grad n go" leaving on graduation night. Anyone else?
I can only assume my son will be in the same situation. He had told us he would be leaving quickly but I was hoping we would have some time together. When my son called on Sunday he said he was sending letters so hopefully Friday we will get some info. My son told us before he left to not feel obligated to go to the grad since he would be leaving right afterwards. i reallllllly want to go but hope to have some time with him. Waiting for definite timeframe before making all reservations. Have a Happy thanksgiving.
My bf is still not sure if he is grad n go.... his A school is in GL as well though? Any of your sons/daughters going to be a gunners mate?
Hey yall are getting some very important info in your letters that others need to hear... Please post on the regular PIR 01-07-2011 site as well,
I want to thank you ladies for adding your news, questions, and info in the PIR site too! I appreciate it soo much! Yall are one big familyswith LOTS of kids! And you may never know who might be wondering about something that you will have the insite or answer or calming touch that will help them unless you are there. Remember, as you recruites are learning to work together as a Team - you all in the 01-07-2011 are a Team here to help and love each other and each others recruits!
My son is ship 12 div 034 PIR date 1/7/11 still so confussed about the getting there & onto base & everything procedure wise.
Hi Ladies, I do not know if you have a t-shirt or other item for all moms in your shp/div but here is an iron on for you. Can be ironed on light colors. I used these iron ons for isilver satin ribbon that you can sew on a 1/2 yard piece of 60 inch silk to make a scarf.

Are any of your sailors from Hawaii??
Anyone from Wisconsin in this division? In the letter I received this week from my son said he will be going to your house for Christmas.... with his shipmate since you live within 300 miles. Is this true... have you heard anything from your son?
mx navymom - welcome.... I accepted your friend request. Please let us all know what we can help you figure out. Also be sure and follow the PIR 01-07-2010 discussion part of this site too.. We have tons of info there.

I dont know where you live but most will fly into Ohare or Midway or Milwaukee. You can rent a car to get to the base. There are shuttle buses but they are expensive and you will want to get around with your sailor and have some fun. Can you sort of give us your history -- I dont know what all you do and dont know. Did you get your form letter. There are four names your recruite would have put on there as to who will attend PIR? There is a Meet and Greet for the families on Thursday evening at the Ramada Inn (that is the hotel where I stayed) The next day most of the hotels have free or slight charge shuttles to the PIR and then back to the hotel.. Or you can take your rental car. Please tell me what else we can help you with! You can send me a message in my inbox too
