While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I talked to my daughter today, it sounds like they just have been on duty and doing everyday stuff. she said they have a lot of inspections and stuff this week going on, starting more hands on, rigging?, and starting weapons qualifications and training. then we were mainly talking about her leave. they were pulling watch today.

we heard from d on friday...finally got a good connection through the phone....he fianlly told us about the flag his division won....he sounds really good..but is looking forward to coming home...he doesnt do very good with the writing part so we never get too much info........

has any of your SR's said anything about getting a round-trip ticket from GL to home then back to GL, and then going to A-school in Florida? I sure hope they are getting guidance from someone who knows what to do! .

Hi all, my son Z is in this ship/div. It's awsome to be able to share the experience with other moms and dads. Just think our kids probably know each other and are working hard together to get through this experience. Z called on Friday 11/26, sounds like their group is doing well. Z is my second son to go through this BC and it has really been a different experience from the first time. I have gotten many more phone calls so far from Z than I did from my other son. I need to e-mail his itinerary to someone. Does anyone have that e-mail address? He is coming home then going to Charleston for A school. We haven't booked his ticket from AZ to Charleston yet. I hope that isn't a problem. Does anyone know if they need to have that info before they can leave?

you can email the itinerary to scheduling.office@navy.mil or you can call the public affairs office at 847 688 2405..but our sons recruiter said that if they are getting the airfair tickets in boot camp that we should not have to do that but i did it any way so there would not be any problems...i do think it has to be there by the 3rd...hope it helps but i am not positive on everything myself...kathy

I have to say, I really don't understand why there is all this mess about travel arrangements, when I was in the service, the service members handled everything, they were told what to do and what they couldn't do, at no time were families responsible for anything, and yes I went home after basic for leave also. I know that was years ago, but you would think they expect parents to butt out, and for these kids to be adults, why are they or anyone else involving families in this as far as emailing itineraries and paying for plane tickets? My daughter is handling all her stuff so far, but I just keep reading all this stuff it just doesn't make sense to me. Okay sorry about the rant, someone at Public affairs really needs to be more clear for all these poor families out here.

Hey Ladies...got a letter from N the other day and he said this division is doing great! They are still 80+ strong, which he said is unheard of. He also said that they are awesome in marching! He is very proud of his division! Bravo Zulu Division 029! :)

That is so awesome to hear! Thank you for sharing....When I talked to M 3 weeks ago he was sounding really stressed and said there was a lot of arguing and nobody could figure out how to march!.......Sounds like they've really come together!

Just talked to my daughter today, sounds like they are very busy but doing well. They finished their weapons qualifications, and had a couple of inspections, along with another PFA. She said as it stands now, they would be doing Battlestations the sunday night before graduation, Dec 19. She said they have been getting up at 400am every morning and they are so busy trying to squeeze everything in, that it is even hard to find time to study. Even with all that, she sounded excited and upbeat. One of the funny things she mentioned was, they are wearing the scarfs(not sure if it is scarfs or face covering) over their face when they are marching, so it is hard to hear and when they call an about face or counter march some people run into each other. lol. But besides that she said they are looking good. I hope everyone else gets a phone call this weekend. These last days are going to fly by. Oh yea she mentioned something about be careful about who you become friends with on Facebook and to not post on there. I guess there have been some issues with that.

Heard from the my son today too. It was short but good. He said he got Sharp shooter in shooting a Shotgun and 9mm. Their division IS doing really well but sometimes get in trouble when they get loud. ?? He did say that they are easing up on them now. He also mentioned that they did a mock version of the Battlestations. We didn't get a chance to touch on more since he had to go. But it was good to hear from him. I hope you all got calls too.
