This is their final test.  They become sailors after they pass this.  It is held the week leading up to PIR.  It can start Thursday night, skips Friday and Saturday nights (Captains Cup on Saturday...fun athletic competition between the divisions), and can resume Sunday through Wednesday nights.    However, since this is a Wednesday PIR group, they could start earlier than Thursday....Thanksgiving week's PIR group started on Tuesday, a week before their Wednesday PIR.

The brother divisions always go through together....800 and 900 divisions can go at any time.  If there is more than one 800 division or 900 division in the PIR group, they most likely will go together.

They may have 2 divisions go, 3 divisions (this would be 2 brother divisions with an 800 or 900 group added), or 4 divisions.  They start with the lowest numbered division and work up, not counting the 800 and 900 divisions.

Here is an article that explains what they do:

You can also go to www.youtube.com and put in "CNN BattleStations 21" to watch a short clip of it.

Post on this group when you have a date for your recruit's division and also on the main board.  I will try to keep a schedule on here and maybe Mary can put one at the top of the main board.  Be sure to ask your recruit if that is the day they "start" BattleStations as it is an overnight drill so they become sailors the next day.

Thurs, Dec 16 Div 27, 28

Not true, Ash. That was blown totally out of proportion. One of the PIR group leaders from a previous group actually talked to the Navy person who posted a warning on FB. He gave her the ok on this site. They apparently were getting very "loose lipped" in alot of ways on FB. They wanted everyone on there to understand that you have to be more careful what details you expose in the military....This is fine on here...we have been doing it for months.
Yes, you are right. It is practice for the OPSEC rules that come with being stationed. But, Ash, BStations are held usually 5 days out of 7 each week. Wouldn't take a rocket scientist to find that out...We had lots of Navy personnel on a discussion group about this...some retired, some who worked on a base, and I will tell you....the retired ones overwhemingly said that this was stupid.
Yes,this is a public site too...people can get on here. You're right....The guy who Lynne talked to who posted this warning on FB was shocked that the posts had affected Navy for Moms. He said he was just telling the FB people that they will need to learn that all the info they have cannot be posted there because of security risks. Same for on this site (the reason we delete). Personally, I don't trust FB at all and don't think Recruit Training Command should be on there....as you said, to each his own....
We moms like to be in prayer for our recruits in their last test....it is not a security breach. Trust me.
Div 29 is doing Battlestations the Sunday before graduation as it stands now. Dec 19
Do they all do it the same day or does each division have a certain date?
Division 31 & 32 are brother divisions. :)
Oh, and it's 15 Dec.
Priscilla, I'm not going to post that date yet for 31 and 32. First of all, looks like PIR 12/17 has groups going that night (they don't mix PIR groups in BattleStations except for adding people who failed their first try). Secondly, This would make 31 and 32 go before 29 and 30. They don't do that either. It is possible for those 4 to go TOGETHER, but they start with the lowest numbered divisions and work up (with the exception of 800 and 900 divisions which can go at any time). So for now, I'm leaving it off. See if you can doublecheck the dates if you speak to your recruit. If 29 and 30 are correct on their date, then the earliest your recruit would go is Sunday night.
Gotcha. ;) that makes sense, considering the other divisions.
I'm sure S will write me with the info so we can update it here. I got the date from Nina who I believe got it from C yesterday.
Div 030 will have their BS on December 19.
Div 030 and 029 are brother divisions.

My son said he my be doing BS on Mon, Dec 20, he's in Div 906

My son is in 801 and he said they are doing BS on the 20 and 21.
