I told my son to let me know as soon as he found out his A School class number.  So, if any of you other ladies have a sailor as part of this class, let me know.  We need to be praying for them.

My daughter is class 1109, but she didn't say 1109-A. Is there more than one?
PollyAnna - yes I agree that we should stick together. We should all benefit from each tibdit that we share. I just talked with my son and he said that he got assign Master of Arms and of course I have no clue what that is, but I will look it up on line and figure it out. So love the internet!
PollyAnna, I took your suggestion. I have been very busy over the weekend and at a conference and hadn't had a chance to get on line. You are right, we need more participants.
Okay, then this is where I belong. My daughter is an MM. She was telling me yesterday that there is a lot 'ribbing' that takes place between the EM/ET group and the MM group. They each act as though the other group doesn't know how to do anything, that they are the real brains in the operation.
I cannot imagine sending another one through BC. Yikes!
well, at least you know the drill for BC. I can't imagine you have too many questions about RTC!
I understand how hard it is to see them make choises that we don't fully support. It took my son almost 5 years after high school to finally decided to go Navy. Lots of brain, but didn't really apply himself. It has been a long bumpy road to get to Nuke School. I hope things go well for you and your son. Keep praying for him.
I sent my daughter a package last week, Priority mail from the post office. I figured it wouldn't get there until at least Monday (I am in California) so she said to put Class 1109 in her address. (They weren't supposed to start using that until this week.) I mailed it Wednesday, she got it Friday. Classmates were disappointed that there was no food in it, but she is really appreciating the comforter she asked for!
I am not ready to think about not having kids for Christmas. My Princess will be home from the 18th to the 30th. My son is only 80 miles away in Berkeley. I know the day will come, but it makes me sad to hear that you won't get to have them home.
At least you will be able to Skyp with them. I know that when my husband and I moved away from my family, it was the very best thing for our marriage. Your son and DIL will miss family, but will grow so much closer and more dependent on each other. You will be glad in the long run. I hope you still find great joy in the meaning of Christmas and knowing they are happy.

Hi!  sorry haven't been here since basics....... my son is in 1109M

He seems to love SC and the weather...

We are hoping to visit this Feb. presidents weekend..

any tips for travel or where to stay?

thanks

Kacey, you are so fortunate to live on the same coast and be able to do a weekend trip.  I am in Arizona and very happy for you.  There is some good information about hotels in the discussions at the time of NukeMoms.  Look through those and you should have the information you need.  Is your son a MM, ET, or EM?  Mine is an MM and had an exam today, PFA, and inspection.  He was really jazzed when he called today to have gotten a really good score on his exam.  His grades had been steadily dropping since Christmas.  He passed his PFA and should move to Phase 3 tomorrow.
