For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I am on board. It sounds like this PIR is full of Nukes and I am excited to get to know some of the loved ones related to our son's fellow sailors. This site has become an addition to me and has greatly helped me get through the worries of bootcamp, I expect it to be the same as he goes through the Nuke schools.

Julsburd, My son had said in his 1st long call home that there are 30 nukes in his division...I've been reading all of the Nuke forum comments since I joined N4Ms last Jan when he contracted.

Hi fyr and Dodie! Yes, my son told me that for some reason they put a lot of nukes in one division... and I guess they have done really well earning their flags etc. for PIR. This is my first experience with the military and so far so good. My son was the one who told me about this site when he called from BC. I am so glad he did because it has been great so far. Since they haven't been able to give us much info it has been invaluable to get the heads up from other moms etc. who have done it already. For example I would never have thought to bring a Tide Stick to PIR but I guess if they did get something on their uniform it would be a good thing to have and would avoid the trouble they might get in if they returned to base with a soiled spot on their uni. Keep in touch as they move on to GC!

My Son's PIR is 12/17, he is allowed to come home with us, and then he will be heading to GC for check in on 12/28. My questions is do you think this group will be held over until the beginning of the year? have any of you heard if they will be able to come home during the holiday stand down?

Hi All, Matt called his dad at work today to let him know that he arrived at Goose Creek. He said he is done at 1500 every day. I guess that will be during indoctrination this week & next. He's supposed to let me know when he is planning on taking leave at Christmas so I can buy his airline tickets (my Christmas present to him this year). He only wants to takes 10 days of leave over the hilday stand down so he doesn't go into the hole too far because he wants to take leave after he finishes w/A School in June 2011.

Sounds like our sailors are getting settled in their new "digs". My son decided to take just 10 days leave also. He plans to leave on Dec. 21 and return on Jan. 2. We are busy working out the details. I think my husband and I are going to drive down and bring him home. We figure that way we can bring some of his stuff to him and save on airfare. I may get to spend a day wandering around Charleston while he is finishing up.

Picking up our son on the 18th - happy birthday to me! He says he has to be back on base sometime on the 1st. He's going to burn most of his leave on this trip, but maybe we can go see him in the spring or summer...

My sailor is an MM nuke but i am not his mom... I am his girlfriend/fiancee right now and hopefully this coming school stand down we will be married officially... we have all we need... all the papers... my dress and the guest that will come to our wedding and all we need is him to come home... also I got a call yesterday when he arrive at the airport in South Carolina... then after that I didn't get any phone call... I was hoping to get one today but I didn't... so I am thinking that he is so busy back there... i will just wait for him to call... maybe on weekends he can give me a long call!!! misses him so much... didn't get to meet him last PiR... due to confusion if whether he is grad and go or not... hope my MM nuke will be fine... and give me a call home soon!

Hi all! Sounds like we're all trying to get the holiday plans in order. My husband and I were just saying its a lucky draw that our sailors get this holiday leave during their first 4 weeks in A School. Normally they would not be in civie clothes or getting their cars to drive back. We have to plan out the details of the leave and that is a good exercise for our family... we are used to flying by the seat of our pants, especially with 10 days of vacation! Not only do we have to pin down our travel days but we have to have routes planned also. Thank goodness for google maps and email!

Hey! Glad we are all able to gather here!!! My son has already bought his tickets to come home the 18-1st....My Christmas present from him!!! I am so glad he is able to come home. Someone had the idea of having them bring home their empty seabag that way they can fill it and take it back with them...thought it was an excellant idea!
