Anyone else with a child on Ship 12 Div 039?

Yes just today that they were given an assignment to write a letter to someone they look up to and tell them about the men they want to become. Also chief said they were big men going no where! I keep hearing div 039 is getting in trouble quite a bit. My son said his group was down to only have five minutes when he called on Friday night from the hour of phone time they started with?
Okay that some sense of his letter. He wrote the letter to his Dad saying how much he respected and loved him. Unfortunately it also had some negative statements about his chief, which really upset us, as he has been taught to respect authority and his elders. We have received two phone calls, the first was a 30 minute call on the day after Thanksgiving, the second was a 5 minute call last Friday. He also said that the division was having some growing pains. I can't wait for 1/14, and am looking forward to meeting other Navy Moms!
My son is on the same ship and Div. I feel so lucky because I have gotten both calls and it was wonderful but my heart if just breaking for my son. He sounds so very sad and lonely. I am so impressed with how much he has grown up already. I just keep thinking about how broken he sounds on the phone and in letters! Are you seeing this as well with your child?
Yes, although I did not get to talk to him last Friday, his Dad said that he got emotional at the end of the phone call. His Dad assured him that he could do this, and told him how proud we are of him. I miss him so much it hurts. But I really feel that although it is very hard on me, this is the best thing for him. My family has included the whole division in our morning prayer circle, praying that they have strength, courage and enlightenment on their new life. Have a blessed day.
My son is on Ship 12 Div 039 after PIR he will go to Goose Creek SC for NUK school. I haven't heard anything about the schedule he will have for leave after PIR except that we will have several hours immediately after PIR but no promises after that as far as time.
Hello all,

I too have a son that is in Ship 12 Division 39. After graduation, he will go to San Antonio to A school. It is nice to know that this website exsists to share experiences with eachother.

My son is going to A School in San Antonio also.  I can't wait to have him stationed there even if it is only for 7 weeks as we live in Lubbock.

My favorite college team is the Red Raiders! Wreck em' Tech. What a small world.

My nephew is on Ship 12 Div 039 - we are so proud of him! His mom doesn't have internet access so I get to represent him here on N4M! Our letters and calls have all been good - he did mention that they have gotten punished but never what for, but he has a great attitude and is working hard to get to PIR! We miss him and are Praying for both him and his division to improve and exceed all their expectations! We will be traveling from Pasadena, Texas and can't wait to see him and meet everyone!!

Hello AuntL,

I have a son that is on Ship 12 Div. 039 also.  We are just about neighbors, I live across 45 in the South Belt area of Houston.  The letter I received today, sounded a little more positive today. I am praying  the div. will come together soon. Where will your nephew go to A school?

Hi there!  It's too fun that we live so close to one another!  Jeff is going Pensacola for A school but we don't know if it's Friday nite or Saturday - bummer - so we are just planning to make the best of it!  When are ya'll leaving?  We leave on Thursday from Hobby at 11:35 flying into Midway.  Then we are staying at the Residence Inn in Waukegan.  I've got my maps all printed out and my parking pass....and coats and sweaters and layers - it's sure going to be COLD!!  We just can't wait - looking forward to that "I'm a sailor" call this week!!  Yay!  We will see you soon!  Lyndy

ok parents of ship 12 div 039 what is going on with our kids!!!!  Seems like there division is having the hardest time at BC and with their chief!  I hope they learn to pull together and work together very soon.  My son did mention that the bunch of this  division is age 18-20, that may be part of it.  It is so frustrating to hear over and over that they are in trouble, losing privilages etc.  I have only heard that talking seems to be a big part of their continued troubles.  Let's all say a prayer they learn the art of silence ;-)  We will be out for Christmas with them.  Hopefully it turns around by then.
