Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

That is great that Ms Ampi can make the t's for you guys. If anyone does want scarfs I will make and bring to PIR Let me know. I have had a few responces but no one has followed thru yet.

What is the body of the scarf made out of? received a letter yesterday, he said this div. is really coming together and that they are no longer being disciplined as a group, only individually, it sounded like they have turned a corner! He said getting letters is like Christmas, the thing he looks forward to and they are now getting them every day, not just on Sundays.

Oh-cindy thanks for that info. I was so bummed yesterday when I didn't get a letter. Its been a while for me and the last time my son said anything it was very different than what you report. Now it makes sense when my son intimated something about wanting a letter from his Dad and it had been at least a week since Dad had sent something. I can't believe they were only getting them on Sundays. I am so glad they are not being disciplined as a group anymore. I'm glad they are getting better. Thanks for sharing.

You will probably get one today, ours usually come on Thurs. I am not sure why yesterday, he also said they would be given some time to write on Tues. and Thurs. now not just Sun.so we should be hearing from them more often. I have been sending him some newspaper articles from the sports page, he really enjoys that, he was a big college football sports fan, he said most of the guys like the NFL. I just hope he got more stationary, it would be hard to send it to him like he asked. I did send stamps. This letter had a very different tone,gave me encouragement, Cindy

was soooooooo hoping for a letter today...nothing..I just can't believe how challenging this can be. I thought I was past that deep feeling of sorrow..Excited about letters, looking forward to calls, making lots of plans for graduation then bam, the sadness comes crashing back again...time to get back out in nature and let the wind blow it all away.....

I could not have said it better GG!!!!! I know you keep thinking you will be ok. You do start on a high at the time of the letter and then the longer you go without the next the lower you get but at the time of the first letter, you swear this was all you needed and you will be ok now....

Well said, this is moving along slowly, I did want to say that T said their Div. has a chance to sleep until 6 on week-ends but that they are getting up at 4:30 to drill until Hall of Fame how cool is that,and that this div. ended up flagging the first test,
which means on average they had exceptional scores. Letters are like Christmas presents he said so keep them coming. ....It is what they look forward to everyday!

My son called for some information only so quick call and he said they did well on the tests this week, Said he gets mail everyday, so I don't know about the only Sunday thing, but said lots of snow there and many sick. Might get 30 minute call if they score 5.0 on something.and that Sunday Dec 5 was Week3 day 4
. He also said they've been getting up at 430 since the very beginning for PT before Breakfast..

Yes they have been getting up for PT at 4:30 but the cool thing is they have chance on week-ends to sleep a bit longer now and they are choosing not to, and yes the mail is every day now,
