Hi all,
My son will be going on to "A" school in Charleston in the Nuclear Power Program. Just wondering if any others will be in the Nuke program following PIR hopefully on 1/7/11.
Has anyone had a sailor in that program before?
Thanks,
Val

I believe that is the same thing my boy is doing & supposed to go to S. Carolina. It'll be new to both of us.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you at PIR - will you be attending the meet and greet?
Will you all be going to the airport early Saturday morning to hang out with these wonderful sailors before they head to Goose Creek? They will be getting there at 4am but have no idea when their flight out is. Our flight out of Ohare is not til 6:15 pm - I am looking forward to some time to meet all these Nuke Sailors that my son has gotten to know or will be getting to know.
This is too exciting to see them in a 2 weeks and 3 days. My daughter is wrapping my son's Christmas presents now to bring with us.
She is also going to be working on another gift for him - His last letter I got yesterday said" it'd be cool to have a calendar with pictures like you made for Willie when he went to college. If you do please include all birthdays of friends and family as I have a hard time remembering those" We did do a personalize NAVY Blanket with pictures on it from Snapfish.
I pray our guys will continue to encourage one another through this journey. I am praying for you all through this Christmas season that in through our times of weakness and despair we have our heavenly Father who cares for us and will guide us through.
My son is PIR 1/7 but is not shipping out until 1/12 at 2:30 am He is Ship 12 Div 038
Heading to Goose Creek but school doesnt start until 1/26 as of today
I wonder if this effects anyone else from PIR 1/7/11. Last I heard my son is reporting to the airport early on the 8th to head to GC. I only assumed he would be starting school soon after getting there. I'll wait and pray and ask him directly when he calls next week after Battlestations.
Do you know what your son will be doing until the 12th and then in GC until the 26th. That could be the longest part of this for him if he is hanging out and waiting there.. I'll be praying for you.
I am so looking forward to meeting up with all these sailors at the airport on Saturday. Leaving the base at 5 am is better than what I heard before. Did you mean he has to be back at the base by 10 pm? That would be longer than the 8 pm I heard too. What will your son's job be in Nuke school? Mine will be an ET. Check out the detailed info on the NUKE Moms site regarding the schedule for Nuke school. Look forward to meeting you so soon.
Yes, Everyone pray for mild weather and especially no snowstorms for our PIR weekend. Safe travels for all....
My son will be an ET also! They will be traveling the same course for next couple years together. I look forward to meeting you at PIR.
I just joined NUKE Moms Discussion and on the site there is a schedule and much needed info for A school in Goose Creek. Just found it this morning but it answers many questions we all probably have regarding liberty, barracks, schooling, pay etc etc. This site will also help with the transition as we leave the PIR site and become NUKE moms together. God Bless you all. 10 more days til we see these wonderful sailors!!
My son sent me a map of the graduation hall telling us where to sit - how sweet. He had a wonderful time at the Rivermont Pub on Sat and sent us a picture with 4 other guys - they all look so good!
