Hi, My son Matt is Ship 09 Div 077.  We got his letters yesterday.  It was great to hear from him.  No calls yet.

We plan to go to graduation in feb.  He mentioned 3 friends he has met.

How's everyone doing today?? I'm watching my mail. For some reason, I thought maybe we would be getting a letter this week.

We've received the box. We've received the form letter.

Now we wait! Tell me what you're doing to pass the time more quickly. I need suggestions!!

I keep thinking I will get a letter this week also. I am sure our mail lady thinks I am nuts as I rush to the mail box before she has even pulled away!
She probably knows what you are looking for.....my postlady looks through the mail to sort it, and as I greet her, she says, no letter from your daughter today....maybe tomorrow. She says she would be anxious too.

My son left Dec13th to be there Dec14th, I got the phone call where he said he did not have time to talk that he was just supposed to let me know he was at basic and would call in two weeks.  I have not gotten a letter yet.  I called the recruiters office today and was told that the info is listed under the RECRUITERS ss# and date of birth and that due to stand down for the holidays that he was not going to be back till monday. That I could call then and get info.

Has anyone gotten any phone calls yet?

It is Sunday Jan 2, 11:45am pst, has any one gotten phone calls today from recruits that went in on Dec 14?   I will get address from recruiter in morning to be able to write..recruiter was off for holidays..my son sent his box to his house back east, but form letter should have come to me....box was recieved by his roommate-but no letter...so should I be concerned because there has been no form letter?  I understand with bad weather and all..and it is coming all the way across the United states to me, but no phone calls, no letter???does this mean their group is having problems???? any words of knowledge or encouragment???
Hang in there Dallas.  The group is doing well from what I understand.  Already practicing for PIR.  My son called 12/31/2010 for a short time. Maybe you'll get a letter soon.  They can only send them on Sunday's but can get mail everyday.  Send pictures and letters in a plain white envelope only.  It seems like a one way system for a while.
It's almost Jan 5th, and tomorrow will be three weeks since he arrived in GL. I have faith that we will begin to get our letters and maybe even a phone call very soon! I will be wishing for all of us who have tried to be patient!
Finally recieved my first letter today. She was in good spirits and talked a little about the adjustment. Not once did she say she hated it. Said it was bootcamp and its what she expected. I am so happy to finally have heard from her....
yay!!...FINALLY!!  We got letters today and he is doing great.  He said some of the days are long but he is really happy and enjoying the experience.   He hates cleaning (big surprise) but he understands why he is doing what he is diing and accepts it as just bootcamp...He says he can most probably write every Sunday and should get a phone call soon....heads up, ladies, the letters are on the way!!!....ship 03 div 80
