Hi all, just received a letter from my husband.  We were suppose to get a 45min phone call from our recruits last week but someone in the division got caught by the RDC with some "civilian items" therefore, as a punishment, they got their phone call taken away =(

Hoosiermom- my husband said that your son and him are leaving at 3am Sat. morning to go to the airport.  Also, they were told that they only got 6hrs of liberty with us after the graduation ceremony.  Is that true? Have you heard anything different? I thought that they don't have to return to base until 8pm or so? Now, I'm really glad that at the last minute I've decided to adopt him for Christmas =)  Have a safe trip!  Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

NewSR - very likely that is true.  At my sons PIR - the Swimmers left base at 0300 - got to Midway at 0400 where I met mine.  We hung out at the USO and the shops all day and had a GREAT time.  Then he flew to Pcola at about 1:30...  The SWCC and divers stayed in GL for about another month.  Yes they are due back at 8 but my Sailor did not want to be late so we went back about 7:00 and shopped at the NEX....

I think some of the other Sailors who were going to school in Pcola also left that early Saturday morning.

Hoosiermom - sorry, it took me so long to reply. It was a crazy week for me at work.  In the retails world, it was our busiest week so I didn't get a chance to go on here as much as I wanted to.  I think I saw you when I was standing in line waiting to go inside the building to see my husband.  I don't think that I will be able to make it to meet and greet b/c we don't land until 5:30...by the time we get to the car rental place and checked in at the hotel...my son might be too tired but I'll see what I can do.  My husband is really excited to go to A school and have someone that he knows to tag along with.

Honey, you didn't see me. I let my husband go in because I didn't want to create a scene. We didn't have to stand in line. We didn't get there until about 8:45. When we drove up at 8 the car line was so long we turned around, went to a restaurant to eat since we'd been up since 5 a.m., then went back. And sure enough, as soon as I saw my son come around the corner I jumped out of the car. And then I started bawling. I didn't realize how much I missed my boy.

If you make it to meet and greet I'm sure one of my daughters would be happy to occupy your son. How old is he? What hotel are you staying at?

lol....I really thought that I saw you there.  I'm glad that we all got to spend time with them on Christmas day.  We're staying at the Residence Inn.  What about you?  I do hope to be able to go to the Meet and Greet but we'll see at that time.  My son is 3yrs old and very active ;)
The Ramada is where we're staying this time. Residence Inn isn't that far away. We'll chat later this week.
