Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Here's my question. While they are doing all this waiting, is this time coming of their enlistment? It seems to me that they would want to push them thru as quickly as possibe to get full use of them after they are trained. If you wait a few months to get started on your school, then do your school, it kinda takes away a few months that they could be putting them on command. Somw even have 2 schools to complete. My S is one of those. If there is another wait period, he will have about a yr or so of his enlistment used for schooling.

From what I have heard the Navy is overmanned. Their enlisted starts from when they were sworn in and not when they finish school. (99% sure on this - not 100%) My son had to enlist for 6 years because his schooling will take over a year, give or take. My son also has 2 schools to complete. What is ur sons rate again? My D is AFT/IT.

he has said it is AIT. Also because of the lenght of school he had to sign for 6yrs.

Hello Ladies- Left our sailor Monday. Not as bad as BC. We heard from him last night, all settled in & very happy:)  And  I'm very happy for him:)  Now he gets to start his life, which is something he's wanted since he's been able to walk. lol

Hello ladies...anyone know what barracks their son is in? Mine is in Barracks B, I know Betsy's "A" is in C...anyone else! "E's" rank is AO and had to sign up for 5 years because of schooling as well!

 

Just want to connect and see if the guys my E is hanging with has a connection here :)!

R arrived on Monday and was feeling a bit taken back by the new surroundings and being alone.  Today he found the Liberty center (games, etc.).  I called him tonight during a game of pool.  He is such a social one and does not feel comfortable unless there are lots of friends to hang out with.  It seems like things are going smoothly today (one day at a time).  Just hope he gets classed up soon.  Apparently a class up list came out today (at least for his rate, IT) and he was not on it.

Suzanne, Is your son at pensacola ? I talked to my son last nite and he told me that he was to start class on monday. He is IT also.I dont know his barracks number. His address is Roberts Ave.

It is good that his classes will be starting Monday.  R is quite disappointed and wants to get the ball rolling.  He is in building 3708.

D is also starting classes on Monday and he is also on Roberta Ave. I wonder if they know each other?
