No letters yet, but I received word that my daughter and a family friend received letters from my son today. I hate that it takes so long to get mail here!!!!!!!! Hope you all are getting letters today!
Sorry you haven't received any letters today, I received 2 letters from my husband and my form to get my military ID card.  It is the first letters I have gotten from him, he sounds like he is doing ok.  He said his Division now has 70 instead of 71, they lost one for medical reasons.  I hope you get a letter from your daughter soon.
hay my boyfriend of 6 years is also ship 03 div 84. i also only got the first phone call to say he made it alive & i got that letter with his address and what not but had not received any letters really from him. but yesterday his family got 3 letters from him apparently he forgot my address after he sent me the ofical first letter so u should get one soon i hope i get a letter to me soon as well. i have sent him 1 letter a week since i got his address. i wrote every day & just sent in bulk lol. from what his family told me that div got put on hold for a week.
does any one know how many are in a div? i was just wondering
There are 70, in Div 084, there was 71 but they lost one for medical reasons.

Got 2 letters yesterday from our SR- sound like he's doing well. He said his butt was sore from shots!

He said PT is hard since they are taking the PFA AFTER they train for hours! Welcome to basic training, son! lol

He said only one RDC yells too much, and that life at Great Lakes is a lot like he thought it was gonna be. I'm glad he went in with his eyes open- makes me sleep a little better! glad most of you all are gettting letters- Purplemom, hang in there!

You'll get yours on a day that were all dying for another one!

Haven't received his box yet, but we have received some letters.  He sounds up and positive, doing lots of studying and managing to fend off the sneezing and sniffling.  I am getting anxious over how long and where to make our rez for PIR.  Also, if his first check doesn't arrive soon we'll have to come up with the funds to help his wife and son get to GL.  Has anyone received their recruit's first check yet?
My husband is ship 03 Div 084 and in his most recent letter to me he said that I should be receiving his first pay check on 1-15-11, payday is usually the 1st and the 15th of the month but is delayed a bit because of processing ect... no worries his wife should get a paycheck soon.  I know how she feels, it's been over 3 weeks now and we have not gotten any money in.  Good thing they retro active the pay, so we will be getting an extra large paycheck.

After a VERY long wait I have finally received the first two letters from my recruit. He sounds upbeat. He said he was a little homesick on Christmas, but that is definitely normal. He asked lots of questions about everyone at home and said he was really excited to see all the snow. He volunteered that he knew how to do the Laundry and ended up as the Laundry Petty Officer. He said the RDCs are okay, but one can really yell and push buttons if they aren't doing what they should be. His biggest complaint is having to wear the long tube/sweat socks and that the food is pretty bad.

He says he has made pretty good friends with a kid from Massachusetts. Does he belong to anyone here??

I had a message that some moms and wives wanted me to post the info about PIR ribbons I make. They were worried that some people might only be on these discussions and not see the ribbon info on the main page. So at their request here it is. :) There are more pics on my page as well as pics of Navy scrapbook embellishments I make and sell.  Everyone who orders ribbons gets a free handmade scrapbook embellishment with their order. It is hard to believe how soon your PIR is. We are trying to get over a winter storm. We got about a foot of snow the last couple of days, way too much for NC lol. We just aren't equipped to get rid of it like they are up north. If you have questions or want more info send me a message or friend request. Thanks

In case you didn't see it on the main discussion board ---

I created a Facebook group called N4M PIR 2/18/2011. All are welcome to join. It is a place where we can use live chat or share without fear that RDCs will see the posts and either embarrass or use it against our SR.

The link for the group is N4M PIR 2/18/2011

Please invite anyone else that may be interested and hope to see you there.

I got a 30 min phone call from my hubby this past Sunday Jan. 30th, it was so nice to hear from him and best of all our 2 year old son got to talk to his daddy.  Was so sweet to hear my son say "daddy I love you" melts my heart.  We are looking forward to seeing him at his graduation, our plane tickets are booked and all is good.  Did you get a phone call?
