Ha ha i already wrote in a letter to him that you got a phone call because of him singing . Im sure when he gets my letters he will write back and laugh. My husband is the type of guy that would do somthing like that infront of friends but i guess the though of doing it in front of people he doesnt know stopped him. Obviously not your bf. My husbands last name is Collins. There are probably like 5 others with that name too haha if you mention him hes the one with the glasses now! Poor thing!! Weird what they find when they are looking extra hard. Im sure you will get the letters soon. I know today my mail was super late i was waiting around by the mailbox from 10 to 1 and it normaly comes at 10:30 it has been for 10 years. But i guess today it just wanted to be slow. So im guessing maybe its a little backed up after the holiddays.
lol thats funny! ill ask my boyfriend if he knows your husband! my boyfriend isnt too shy so he will pretty much do anything in front of people but he can be quiet sometimes too! i never would of thought he would do that though!! your lucky for your mail to come that early!! mine usually doesnt come until 3 oclock... talk about waiting around all day!! and the last few days it didnt come til almost 5! i was going crazy waiting for it! i had a letter inside so my flag was up and when i would go look outside and still saw that flag up i didnt even think i was going to get mail that day!!
just ask your husband if he knows the guy that had to sing little drummer boy in front of the division! lol :)
Aw well a phone call is special. I only got the 5 sec i love you miss you letter in two weeks bye call. I havent heard my husbands voice since Dec 13th! The little things you take for granted that you will never again take granted.
Oh my gosh me too!! I put a letter in every morning and i go look out the front windows to see if its down or not. If its down im out that door running through the front yard in my slippers checking it! Today at least i wasnt in my PJs when i got it haha.
i got 5 letters today!!!!! ahhh im SOO HAPPY!!!
Yaye im so happy for you!!!
Thanks! I was so happy! I just wrote in my letter asking him if he knew ur husband! He moved bunks and doesn't even have a bunkmate anymore! So he has to do his sheets himself for inspections poor thing! But he sounded a little homesick in the first couple letters but he sounds a little better getting into his routine and he's made some friends now so that makes me happy!
Ship 9 Div 72. Still no letter. ;( a little worried but I know I'll get one soon. ;)
You will get one soon. Does your son graduate on 2/18?

Hi GS'mom,

My son is in Ship 9 Div 71 which is the brother division of 72, the two divisions train together.  I got a phone call from my son last Friday.  Everything is going fine he kept saying, Dad, I am fine.  By this time they are now in week 3 and are doing 'real Navy stuff'.

These recruits are really, really busy I know it is disappointing to wait for a letter.  My son said he had no time to write he is doing Navy stuff.  That is fine, no news is good news.  If it is good news no need to write a letter and if it is bad news you will hear about it in a phone call not a letter.  That is Dad logic, I know, LOL.

Keep the faith, as they say, no news is good news.  Of course we want to know every detail but really the big picture is, they are fine.
