Does anyone have a recommendation on what the best hotel is to stay at for graduation in Great Lakes? I thought I read that there is one very close to where they are at, but I don't remember which one it is.

i read that there is one about a mile away from there. its called sleep inn if i remember correctly.
I have a friend that went and watched her grandson graduate and she said that they stayed at a hotel in Waukegan. She said it was only about 4 miles away. I am staying at the Residence Inn in Waukegan when I go watch my son graduate on Feb. 11th. All the reviews I read on it was very good
Marianne:  All of the hotels are fairly close up there.  It is a small area...easy to get around in.  We stayed at Residence Inn and loved it.  About 4 miles from the base, 1- and 2-bedroom suites with full kitchens, gas fireplace, sleeper sofa...free buffet breakfast in the lobby each morning.  We were very happy there!  Residence Inn Waukegan.  Oh, and they have the PIR shuttle also....$3/pp each way.  Sailor can return with you. I highly recommend the shuttle for everyone!
yes the Residence Inn, Springhill Suites, Ramada are three I know of. All are close.
Thanks all! We made our reservations and can't wait!!! February 11th can't come soon enough. I am sure all of you feel the same way.
where did you end up Mairanne?
Springhill Suites in Waukegan.  Where are you staying?
Residence Inn-Waukegan as well! ;)
I noticed Springhill doesn't have shuttle from there to graduation. Is it better to find one with a shuttle? What mode of transportation is best for this day?
Springhill has two shuttles on the day of PIR to RTC and from RTC. It's $3/person each way and you reserve your seat at check-in. And you pay your fee when you board. I'm staying there as well, and called them today.
Thanks...We decided to stay there too. I'm so excited!
