For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Nick was very nervous and the hardest part for us was as he ended the call he began crying. I don't consider him a really tough guy but not a wimp either. I really wish we would get the box so we could see the handwriting. I think today's 'empty feeling' is because it is settling in for us. I hate being crabby at school/work. Hope my students are accepting.

kim, omg im so sorry for you he was upset, its a huge thing, my son was like hi mom im here, a box will come, i said how is it he said i dont know then gotta go, ???? i expected that , but its so hard, your sons not a wimp, just far away from home with strangers, mine was comforting me saying goodbye, then i felt bad, you feel how you feel, They will do great, my nephew was in the navy and said he will be fine this week is more physical stuff so they will be tired, but busier than last, which was a lot of medical and paper work, No worries, where are you from we are from Boston

We are from Iowa. Nick is likely very accustomed to the winter weather they are getting, as your son is. I am still sad for him but not as much crabby after school. Hope tomorrow is easier.
We did get the box. Thought it would be refreshing instead it makes me miss him more...
No more thoughts of 'hope he is really gonna make it'. I know now he is making it but I still wish our last conversation had ended more ok-not happy but ok. Thanks for your thoughts and knowing he is tired and busy is a HUGE help!!

I did receive my son's box on Friday when I got home from work. I hate to admit it, but even though it just had his dirty clothes, shoes and cell phone, I was relieved because it felt like at least there is some sort of communication. lol I'm really anxious to receive his address though. His recruitor wouldn't give it to me. He said I had to wait 1-2 weeks. Hopefully, it will come this week cause I want to send him some mail. Yes, my son said there were about 15 on the plane from Houston, so I'm sure he was with your son.

I am so glad to hear that your recruiter wouldn't give it to you either. Well, I don't mean glad I just mean that we are both getting the same answer. I called them today and they said I had to wait. The box was like a communication. I am soooo blessed with you 'friends' as you are feeling so much like myself and my husband that we are encouraged that we aren't being unnecessarily concerned. We will make it. Like church camp the first summer-this is probably harder for us than them.

I recieved the box today, called the recruiter for info..and he said I had to wait for the address and other info. Hopefully just a few more days, and I will be able to have a place to send all of these letters I have been writing. I am so happy that I found this site, so I can read and share..and know that I am not alone! My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you and your SR's.

My Left for boot camp on January 6th. We live in Wisconsin. It shouldn't be too bad for him because most of the training is inside. My son's recruiter say they keep the ship warm for the people that come from warmer climates.

My son also left on January 4th. I'm also still anxiously waiting on the letter to come with his address on it! We are from MS, so I'm sure he's beyond freezing there. I know in my heart he will be just fine, but I guess worrying just comes with being a mom. I am thankful to have found this site though, it has helped so much!

I am waiting get the box. It seems like an eternity. I have written a diary it seems. It is going to take him a week just to read this letter. His girlfriend has written 7 letters so far.

When one of my boys txt me from chicago he txt, "there are 40 of us now and we are waiting for 240 more to arrive. He said, there were some there from houston, and iowa.
I tell my daugher see, our boys are there getting to know each other and the parents are on line getting to know each other.
