This is the final test for the recruits before they become sailors.  It is an overnight drill held on a ship replica made by Disney, so it is very realistic....the recruits face every challenge that they could have when deployed on a ship.  It is a culmination of all that they have learned during bootcamp. Each division goes through with its brother division.  Up to 4 divisions can go through a night (usually 2 sets of brother divisions, but sometimes a 900 and 800 division tag onto 2 brother divisions).  But less can go also. 

At the conclusion of BattleStations, there is a capping ceremony.  The recruits are now sailors!  This is actually their graduation ceremony.  They have chores and things to do that day before making the "I'm a Sailor" call...so calls normally don't come in until starting around 2 pm GL time and can go through into early evening. 

Since this is a smaller PIR group, they may not start BattleStations until PIR week.  But they could start them the Thurs. night a week before, continuing Sun-Wed if all of those nights are needed (most likely not in this case).  Your recruits will know when their division is scheduled for BattleStations.  So ask and then please post below so that we can get a schedule started on this page.

53+54, 55+56, 57+58

910 will tag on to 2 brother divisions or will go alone.

I think Jordyn said she will do battlestations the 18th. Maybe since there are so few divisions they are breaking up into smaller teams to stretch it out? Hmm... Hopefully this will get nailed down. I gotta know when to pray for what! (well, specifically speaking). :)

Fawn, no....the 18th would be BattleStations for the 1/21 group.  Div 53/54 will go first for this PIR group...and the whole division goes in on the same night, but they break up into teams once in there.  So I'm leaving it that they report on the late evening of 1/20, and do the majority of BattleStations in the wee hours of the morning on 1/21.  Yes, we try to get a schedule up so that people can pray specifically and also so that families know when to expect the I'm a Sailor call!

This may sound bad, but i'm glad they do Battlestaions during the night, while we're counting sheep!! I would be a total mess the whole day, pacing my house, and wondering, wondering what's going on!! Lol! Although i'm sure I won't sleep well that evening, it is a bit better to wake up and know our SR's are done with it, most likely!

Fawn-this is the same day my husband gave me on our last phone call.......I would just send a general prayer to have them pass battlestaions when they perform it this week!!!

I have a question, isn't January 24th a little late for a group to go to BATTLESTATIONS for the first time, if their PIR is January 28th? If something goes wrong when would they go through BATTLESTIONS the second time? Our SR is in Div 910, we plan to leave SC on January 26th to drive to RTC GL for 1/28 PIR.

Jill, they can actually go on Wed night into Thurs morning before PIR.  Many divisions do.  So --many get the I'm a Sailor call while in route to GL.  AND, if for some reason they don't pass, or if they are trying to pass their run/swim before, they can do this up until the day before PIR and then go through Thurs night (with next PIR group) with their BattleStations, passing...and then sitting in the balcony at PIR ...too tired to march.  Don't worry....most all make it!

SDPam- I'm glad to see someone else is leaving a few days ahead of time too!!!  I thought I might be the only one anxious enough to head that way early :-)

 

Battlestations ARE through the day AND night, but I doubt I'll be couting sheep while it's going on...  I'm so worried right now, the sheep just laugh at me when I try to count them... 

 

I pray they do run battlestations earlier in the week...  I don't want it to come down to the night before for ANYONE!

My son is in 057 and when he called on Sunday he stated that they are scheduled to do Battlestations on the 24th.  Am guessing that 058 will be in there with them.
