Alright moms. I know this doesn't have to do with the Nuke program, but I've come to love you all so much!

I wanna know... When was the moment that you knew your husband was the one you wanted to spend the rest of your life with? :)

Just curious!

I'm sorry things didn't work out between you and your children's father. But your advice is great! Thanks so much! :)

Let's see Aaron likes video games, I'd rather read books. Aaron likes to golf, I'd rather swim. Aaron loves movies, I fall asleep. We definitely have a lot NOT in common. haha. But we bring out the best in each other. :)

He can be a slacker, and I can be an overachiever. I'm realizing that we're balancing each other out. I've been able to convince him to put in a few extra study hours to get that higher grade, and he's been able to relax a little and not get so stressed.

As for dreams, we both have big ones. The sky is the limit. :)

How adorable!! :)

This one really made me smile... And that grocery receipt has to be priceless. :)

I know I'll never get rid of the letters from boot camp... I still have the flowers he sent me last year. Hmmm.. Maybe I should do something with those :/

Oh that's a good idea!!

I sort of thought about making a bracelet out of them like people do with flowers from funerals and weddings... But my mom doesn't think it'll work because the flowers are dead, not dried out.

One thing is for sure, they don't look as good dead in a vase as they do alive. :)

That's a picture of a rosary with the rose petal beads. Some look really bad, but if someone who knows what they're doing makes them, they look really great.
I have a bracelet from the rose petals from my sister's wedding bouquet. :)
Nope. Apparently the process is to dry the petals, crush them up... like puree them... And then simmer them before rolling into beads and letting them dry in the sun.

I have to share that I was first married when I was 17 years old and a senior in high school. We had been dating for two years and we had a son three months before we got married. I knew it was wrong a short seven months later, but stayed for three years because of my son. He enlisted in the Army and was in for three years and sadly while he was still in, I knew that I had to end the marriage because of my son. He wasn't going or taking me where I wanted to go and what I wanted for my life. I have never regretted the decision to end that marriage.

I was single for eight years and doing quite well on my own and raising my son. I dated here and there and was better on my own. My youngest sister and her friend arranged a hay ride/bonfire evening and I was going. I had called two friends to see if they wanted to go with me, they were both unable to go. I had another friend I could call, but decided not to call him because I knew he would go. I took my mom and my other younger sister and we were having a good time, well it really was boring. I had brought some stale marshmallows to toss if things got boring and they sure did. So, I started to toss them across the fire and all of a sudden I see this guy and my heart stopped! I had not seen him, he was on the other wagon as there were two. I had to find out who he was and I did. We rode back on the same wagon and talked. He took my number, called the next day and here we are 25 years later, married for 23 years in April. I still love him and like him today..................yep, soul mates we are, I am six years older than he is. I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband and my K's have an awesome dad! God is good, All the time!

Sounds like you've been through a lot, Sharon!

Thanks so much for sharing! :)

These stories all make me so happy!

aaronsgirls...He saw me cheering at a basketball game. I was a senior in Hs, so was his brother. he was a JR in college, He knew my last name was Adams but did not know my phone number. He called every Adams in the phone book, good thing my fathers name was Anthony! Asked to meet me at a New Years Eve party. The moment I saw him I KNEW! We got engaged a year later. I was only 18. He was 22. Everyone tried to talk us out of marriage! Your too young it will never last!I was only 19 when we got married. His parents even went to his friends to get them to talk him out of marriage! Was a little bitter about that! Well 31 years and 3 kids later Still going strong!

Oh, I'm already getting the "you're too young it will never last" stuff coming at me... And we're not even engaged yet! haha.

I'm so glad to hear that thing worked out for you. :)

It sucks that society puts such a horrible stigma on young marriages society... I know some don't work out, but if you never give us the chance to learn and live, we'll never know what could have been.

I've enjoyed reading all your stories so much! The good and the bad, they've all made me smile. :)

I figured maybe you'd be interested in reading mine, if not that's fine, too. :)

I was 15 and it was the end of my Freshman year. I was sort of in my "rebel" stage... well, as rebellious as I've ever acted. :) I had this guy, Sean, who I had been hanging out with and I was learning a thing or two from him. We'll leave it at that :) Sean would talk to me one week, get me to go somewhere to make out, and then "dump" me when I wouldn't take it to the next level with him. Complete jerk. And I knew that, but I felt way too cool kissing a Junior to put an end to it... Besides, he was funny and cute and had a car. :)

ANYWAYS. Around May I had finally gotten over Sean, and was talking to another guy. I went to the Junior High band concert (huge band nerd here) to see how they sounded, but didn't have anybody to sit with. One of my unshy moments came up, and I found a kid (Aaron) from the high school whom one of my friends "dated." I sat down next to him and he just got the biggest smile on his face.... All I could think was "Oh no! Now he thinks I like him!!" :) We talked pretty much the whole concert (bad concert etiquette, I know), and I can distinctly remember the smile on his mom's face... I think she knew right then and there. And come to think of it, I'm pretty sure he knew... He just had to convince me. :)

We hung out all summer at the parks in town just talking and getting to know each other. He came over to my house one day while the parents were at work to watch a movie and I was so mad at him... He wouldn't even hold my hand! Still give him crap about that one today. :) Things progressed slowly, but they did progress. I tried to break it off when he was going off to college that fall, but he refused to let me go. He begged (literally) me to give us a chance, and I did.

He joined the Navy the next summer, and even though I was against it, I decided to stick around. I had a major break down when we were waiting for the ceremony to start at PIR, but I think the moment I knew was when I had that first hug. Our relationship had changed through our letters, and we had grown closer when we were furthest apart. Our relationship has grown stronger ever since. He's honestly my best friend now, and I'm his. I can't imagine life without him, and I think he's just waiting for me to be ready before he pops the question. :)

Sorry that was so long,,, Once you get me going on Aaron I can't shut up. :)

But once again, thanks for sharing, everyone!! I enjoyed everyone's stories so much! :)

I've been reading the stories not sure if i was going to post.  But - here it is.  I moved to to Indy in the 8th grade.  My now husband lived in the same neighborhood so we went to the same Jr. high.  At some point, we decided we "liked" each other.  I remember sitting in the back seat of the school bus on the way home from school holding hands.  The bus driver was a friend of his moms and so told her.  He was in DeMolay and I was in Job's Daughters (not even sure if these organizations are still active anymore) so we went to some of the dances together.  He told his mom in 8th grade he was going to marry me.  I still have his 8th grade notebook with Charlie loves Melody written on it.  We did both go out a few times with others, but by Jr. year, pretty much knew.  I had my engagement ring at our Sr. prom (the same ring I am wearing right now) and we were married the October after we graduated - we were both 18.  That was 35 years ago and I have not regretted a moment.  Our sailor son was our first child  - born 3 months after our 10th anniversary, so at least no one could say we "had" to get married.  My husband is exactly 1 week older than I am, and we moved to Mississippi the week we were 21 - 1 U-Haul with all our worldly possessions and 2 friends driving our two cars in the worst snow storm in like 25 years - took us four days to make a normally not quite 2 day trip.  Lots of good memories (now) kinda stressful then.  Just because you are young doesn't mean it won't last.  We kinda "grew up" together and had to depend on each other.  Wouldn't change a thing.

Sounds like you and your Mr. Wonderful have had a lot of exciting adventures together! And that notebook has to be priceless! :)

I'm so glad you shared! Thank you! :)
