We have not had a call yet either...I am dying to hear my sons voice!  So everyday, we check the mail and sit by the phone, hopefully a call will come soon!

To All Ship 03 Divison 079 Members...What a great day...I got the must awaited Phone Call.   We just got in from taking the lil guy sled riding and my cell phone rang.  I didnt know the number was almost got going to answer...then I said hello and I thought I was dreaming.  My son said...Hi Mom its ME!!  I started screaming and my hubby looked like he was going to faint!  My son told us he only had 30mins and I knew he wanted to call his sweetheart too!  It was the fastest 13mins and 44secs...I saved the call in my phone.  I hope you all had the same treat today, just think as of Monday 1/17, the count down is on..30 days until we board the plane to the Great Lakes.    Your fellow NavyMom or Wife....RysMom
Oh I am sooo happy for you!  We are still waiting, now I have hope that it will come soon!
I got another letter today!   I guess they took a test on Monday and if you did REALLY well you got to call home..so I am guessing mine did not do so well!  Also he said that almost 1/2 of the Div. has been sick!
My husband is in that group!
Hopefully now all of Div 079 have recieved a phone call!  I'm so looking forward to meeting all of you at graduation. I miss my son so much but very happy to hear his voice and hear how well he sounded.

Some good news: My son told me that our Div is a Senior Division.  I didn't know what that ment so I posted the question and this was the reply:

A senior division means those who are have passed a mid-point of training. They have more privileges than junior divisions, and are given the chance to buy goodies and are more likely to earn a phone call.

Because they spent more than two weeks in processing, they got a lot of the daily grind stuff done before day 1-1, so they are ahead in their training.

Thank you for the info. I really am so new at all of this and the posting I don't know where to look first. I see lots of mom's got phone calls.  I missed mine..... It was like having my heart torn out.  He was able to call his girlfriend so he did at least get to talk to someone.

that is good news txnavymom....
We got our call today!!!  I left the house for one whole hour and that is when our call in.....my hubby got to talk to our son!  He only had 5 minutes to talk, said they have been really busy, and he did not even now what day it was!  He is holding up well and very pooped out this week!  My husband was the one in tears...and tears!!  I can not wait for him to call again...
that is soo awsome.  i am glad you got to speak.  when my son called us last week, as soon as he heard my voice i he started to choke up.  i started talking to him and got his mind off feeling that way.  it was killing me, but i felt i needed to be strong for him.   just think the count down to seeing them is on as of today.  i hope i will be able to meet you at graduation.
Heads up Div 79!  Gary said he will probably be calling on the 31st...so charge your phones!!!
