My son is in the above SHP and DIV. Got a letter on 1/7...friends and family got letters last thursday or Friday...was hoping to get a call over weekend...but nothing. Before my son left he told me that his A school would be in Pensacola. PIR is 2/18. Has anyone in this Div heard from their love one this week? In his letter he said that he was doing okay, eating a lot since he only gets to eat 3 times a day had actually gained a few pounds. I have sent quite a few letters and cards, but not certain if he has received all of them, since he was asking for pictures...and one letter had them enclosed. Does anyone have any recent information for this div and shp? How do I find out if he is grad and go or if he will at least have the weekend? I know that no news is supposedly good news but HELP!!!

There are quite a few of the ship 083 moms. We had a group but then got into the PIR group. We are hoping to get our calls this week and new mail Wed or Thurs. I will look for the links and send them to you.
Thank you!! Look forward to catching up on all the news

ok here's the place for the other group. It's in Leaving for boot camp in December, All Groups, show all, ship 03, Div 083

We should make a subgroup in the 2/18 pir group. Ask the admin at that site as it is hard to find the other one!  Have fun! Letters and calls tomorrow, Thurs/ Fri.... any day!!!! ;)

My son is also in Ship 3- Div. 83.  I received my first letter last Wednesday (4-pages!) and hoping and praying for another one tonite, or a phone call.  I'm just wanting to hear his voice.  I hope everything in his Division is going okay, because I read that one SR has called home 3 times now.   Hopefully, their division is not getting punished for something and that is why they haven't called home yet.

Three times? that sounds crazy. I haven't gotten one call. Was that posted here or on FB. Send me the link if you have it. I would not want my son to be punished either... Did Matt say what job he has? I will add you and send you a message.

Hi :)

I've been doing a lot of reading around, and I've come to the conclusion that our phone call day is tomorrow. After that, we could get any number of calls. From what I've read it's very rare to be given phone calls before the second "I'm alive" call, which we should get tomorrow. The mom that said she got three calls was from Division . . .78? I think. Much earlier than ours, so her son already got his second call, and he must have earned more after that. Lucky kid, that's not common, at all.

Your son is only allowed to SEND OUT letters on Sundays, so you will always get the letters from him on either Thursday or Wednesday, usually Thursday. Don't fret, he's still writing to you, you're just not getting them yet. He probably hoards them until Sunday, then mails them all out :)

He will most likely NOT be a grad and go. Most likely, he will still have things to do at boot camp after he graduates. I believe my husband is leaving the Wednesday AFTER bootcamp. He will have the weekend AND Monday. :) Don't worry, you'll hear from him VERY soon, I promise :)

I got a letter today! I am not home to actually read it but my daughter opened and read to me. Said that he is okay, passed his first inspection, pass his swim test, will have liberty until 8 pm each day for the weekend (he thinks this includes the holiday Monday). Letter was dated Jan 6 and 7. Once I get home I can read and relay more information. Just glad that I got something!

Ship 03, Div 083 should be calling today or tomorrow.... Anyone get one?

Hey everyone! I got my phone call today, as I'm sure all of you did, but I got a nice message that I thought I would share with you all, just in case you didn't get it from your recruit.

Our recruits division earned the Scholastic Ribbon a few days ago because everyone did so well on their first test. If we do the same for the next two big tests, we will get two more ribbons, and be an honor division.

Awesome ya? So in your next letter, say congrats on doing so well on your first exam :). My hubby got a 4.8 out of 5.0, but I guess that was pretty average, everyone did really well. :)

Excellent, I didn't know the honor part and I didn't get his score, but he said the division is a great group!  Yeah, mine said there are 6 flags and they can earn pennants to add to each flag... I think... not sure.  But hearing you say it, it sounds wonderful. Thanks for passing it on, I will add the congrats to my letter tonight!! Great to hear his voice! ;)
When I talked to my son yesterday he mentioned a couple of recruits, one from Baltimore and one from California.  Any moms out there that might fit?
mine is from cali :)
