Hi Mom's

My son is scheduled  for PIR on 2/4/11 an assigned to ship 11 div 061. I could not find any groups for moms who's sons are assigned to ship 11 div 61. Sooo I am hoping we could get together here and compare notes from our sons.  I dont know much about this division, I have read from other moms that certain divisions mean certain things.  Well I hope to hear from you guys :)

Hi captain--welcome to the group! What craziness, huh? When our sons decided to join the Navy, i dont think any of us realized how much of a part of it we would all become:))

I am from PA and are making plans to drive the long trip up to PIR...Cant wait!!!

Captain- Welcome!  I am from NC.  Only 3 weeks left!!!  Time should really fly by now.  Especially for them.  They'll be very busy the next few weeks.

Welcome Captain!  I'm from MN.  Two months ago February seemed soooooo far away!  I never thought I would be saying 20 days and we get to see our SAILORS!  I can't even wait!!
Hi captain and Welcome to our group. I am from Massachusetts and we all are anxiously awaiting our Jan 20th phone call.  And some letters to.  I did nto recieve any letters this week but his gf did. :(     I wonder if they gets all of our letters becasue I wrote a bunch of questions and have not got a response yet from him.

Kelly--- i was wondering that too. My sons GF texted me and said "blahhh, i dont think hes getting my letters"

I sent mine a letter in the form of a questionare and told him to just send it right back to me after he answers everything on it, but i never received it and he never referred to it in any letters i have gotten since. I would just like to know if he wants me to send his contacts or  not. lol.

None of this is going to matter in lees than a few weeks,!!! I cant wait to see them. I hope we all get to meet each other, and hopefully our sons know each other. I read on here about exchanging phone #'s before we leave in case someone is lost, late, needs a ride, etc....I am willing to do that with you ladies if you want. Let me know. I will help anyone out that needs it (or willing to BS any time someone wants to ) lol

Postie your right in a couple of weeks we will see them but I dont want him to be sad thinking we are not writting him.........exchanging numbers is a great idea we should do that. I am not making the meet and greet due my flight time but would like to meet up with you guys some time over the weekend......

Hey, I am in for sharing numbers. I especially might need help in the ride department, cause I can't rent a car and am going to taxi everywhere but if ppl are going to the same place as me that would be so helpful. Not sure where I am staying yet, his family won't book the hotel yet (I am sooo pissed) so I will post on here when I know that info. Message me if you want my number :)
Got my scarf today!  It's beautiful.  So soft!  Totally as advertised.  I'm so happy.  Also, rec'd the one patch I won on e-bay.  Now all I'm waiting for is the other 2 that are coming from Thailand.  Hopefully they get here in time to sew them on the scarf.  They are all iron on patches, but I hate to ruin the scarf by ironing them on it.

I received my scarf too.  They are very nice and very soft.  061 is going to look SOOOO GOOD!!!

I haven't received any letters either.  I'm wondering if they are so busy (finally) that they really don't have as much time to write as they did during the holidays when things were slower.

18 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey guys...My son wrote me and filled me in on whats going on this month. They have 'holiday' on Sun. and Mon.(16th & 17th) They have two big runs this week (17 mile and 20 mile...wow). Nex and phone calls on the 20th (yaayyy). Uniform exchange and Div, photo. Some tests thrown in there (and shots).

The week of Jan. 23rd....they have firefighting for mon., tue., and wed.,  physical fitness finals (27th), plus tests thrown in there. Captains Cup on saturday.

The week of Jan 30th...Drills, haircuts, banking,..and BATTLESTATIONS!!!!!....then LIBERTY!!!!!

I love those last two words ... BATTLESTATION & LIBERTY!!!!!!
Div 061 mom's are going to rock!!!  I'm so ready to get to PIR!  It's unbelievable that it's only 18 days to go.  I'm going to be really busy with work this week, so this week will fly by for me.  Love it!  Can't wait to get our call on the 20th.  I talked to my nephew last night.  He's in Pensacola for his A-school.  He just phased up.  Hasn't started school yet though.  Poor kid says he has no idea when he will.  They don't tell them anything.  He did tell me that when he was at bc he was in an awesome division.  They earned lots of priviledges, which gave them lots of calls home.  I told him unfortunately that's not happening in his cousins division!  Oh well, luck of the draw I guess.  We have finally made our decision to drive up to GL.  Will leave early Wed. morning and get there some time on Thurs.  Hopefully in time for the M&G.
