Hello All and a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I hadn't seen a group formed yet for our ship, so I thought I would start one (Ship 02, Div 911 - USS Reuben James (PIR Feb 4, 2011)) so we all can be in touch! We have a special connection with band, choir, and drill team!  It will be great to share our experiences, stories and plans to meet up for PIR in Feb!  I'm a new Navy mom, and missing my daughter greatly right about now (as I am sure we all are missing our loved ones!), but am so very proud.  Let's chat!

Can you believe we are only three weeks away from one of the greatest moments of not only our kids' lives, but also ours?  I am so excited, nervous, anxious and ADD!  My mind cannot stay on anything too long before it is goes to wondering and waiting.  I am so proud of my boy as I know all of you are of your kiddos/significant others.  3 weeks!  In just 21 days, we will all be crying together and not just sharing tears on here or facebook.  Oh that reminds me, better go get some waterproof mascara.  Oh lordy be!  I am so ready!!!  Have a great weekend everyone!!
Robyn - I know I cant stand it! Today is especially bad for me. I dont know what it is.......lol. I just finished writing a three page letter to my son. Probably because I was up until 2:00 am baking banana bread...hahahaha. Sorry to bust your bubble, but we have only 20 days.woo hoo!!!!! You know it's going to go so slow now. What other parents have received letters from our division? I received only one in two weeks and that was on Thursday. Anyway, happy Friday to all :-)
I guess I count differently lol  If it is three weeks from today, that makes 21 days. lol But I see what you mean.  It doesn't matter just as long as it passes quickly!  I can't wait!!!  (insert high-pitched squeal here) WOOHOO!
hahaha Robyn - too funny!

Robyn ... I know just what you mean ... I'm joining you with the ADD thing, only I think mine is ADHD!  (I'm talking a mile a minute these days when I speak of my girl and PIR, and I feel the need to get everything done as quickly as possible as if that will somehow speed up the calendar!)

And, Regina -- I am just a flood of emotion today.  I don't quite know why today from any other day, but it's probably just all the excitement churning inside!!!  Wow! Am I ever so proud of her and do I ever miss her!!!

Her last letter was so upbeat!  Such a change from before!  She wrote about having made a couple of really good friends in her DIV, and how they are talking about getting together with the families for pizza or something one of their nights of liberty!  They're working more as a team now (thank God!) and things are coming together.  I think there's just as much excitement building in the barracks as is building back home!  They know they are on the home stretch now and are just so excited to become Sailors and to see their families!!!

P.S. -- I will be off to the store tonight to find some of that waterproof mascara for me, too!!!  I'm fighting back tears just thinking of all of this!  HUGS all around!!! ;o)

Okay ... I HAVE to pull myself together before someone walks into my office and finds me this way!!! ;-p
Just wrote a long letter to my boy.  Sure wish I had that waterproof mascara now.  Everyone in my office already knows that I cry at the drop of a hat lately, so they're used to it.  Good thing my office is allllll the way in the back.  lol  Ugh!  I feel like that little girl off of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...I want it NOWWWWWW!  lol

Hey gals ... RTC just posted some pics of today's PIR on facebook!  I wonder if any of our SRs are performing?!  ;o)

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/album.php?fbid=493201309650&...

They shouldn't start performing until next week but let me know if you see anyone you recognize! :)
I didnt see anyone I knew, but then again they kinda all look the same...lol   short hair and all ;-)  I am really having an off day......missing him so dang much! I know it started with the 3 page letter I wrote him today. Packing some clothes for him already for the hotel.....lmao!! My mascara is going to run because I cant stand wearing waterproof!!! lol.
Just seeing those photos and knowing we are so close makes my stomach do flip flops and my eyes water (okay, there tears).  Soon, ladies, very soon, we will all be there bawling together!
ok what's up did we get the BS date? Not sure if I read that properly........
