Hi Mom's

My son is scheduled  for PIR on 2/4/11 an assigned to ship 11 div 061. I could not find any groups for moms who's sons are assigned to ship 11 div 61. Sooo I am hoping we could get together here and compare notes from our sons.  I dont know much about this division, I have read from other moms that certain divisions mean certain things.  Well I hope to hear from you guys :)

My husband just brought in yesterday's mail....what was I doing not checking it yesterday???  But I got a letter.  He sounded so good.  Sounds like they are really coming together and winning flags and inspections!!  He said, Chief called them a "Game Day" division.  When it comes down to "game day", division 061 prevails when he doesn't expect them to.  HOOYAH!!!  He said he can't wait to see us at graduation!  Made me cry (of course).
Thanks for the update with your letters.  Wow, Potsie;  Your son sure tells you all the details.  Mine never tells us anything about his day or week.  It's so funny!  We are happy that you keep us informed though.  KimB; Glad to hear that their division is doing so much better!  It's about doggone time!  Hopefully I get a letter tomorrow.  Even if there is not much info in the letters, I love getting them.  He'll fill us in when he can see us in person.  Can't wait for those hugs and kisses!!!!!

Im getting so excited for the trip. Whats nice is knowing that its 18 more days for PIR, but we get to leave a few days before that to travel, so...its seems even closer.  lol  I cant wait to see him and give him a big hug/kiss. I miss him so much.

The computer i am on all this time is his laptop, and everytime i close out for the day, i see his wallpaper on the front screen, which is him and his girlfriend (homecoming king and queen photo). He looks so cute/dorky in that crown. (kinda like the BURGER KING king.) I just miss his goofiness...and how loud he laughs...everything. I think i may just have to move to Connecticut!!!

I guess we have to let them go sometime, but it seems so sudden.

Hey ladies...i wanted to clear something up. I read over my post on the schedule my son sent me and i said they have a 17/20 mile run...i meant a 17/20 MINUTE run. Sorry...i typed mile instead of minute. I didnt want you asking your sons how they did in the 20 mile run and have him say i was crazy..lol.

It seems like the closer we get, the more anxious i get for it to be over. I have to keep telling myself that our boys dont get to come home after this, but at least we will be able to have contact with them.

When my older son when off to college, we were able to talk and text everyday ( usually), and i remember we were watching the same television show one night (music awards), and we texted back and forth everytime something happened. lol (kanye west..remember that?)

I cant wait for that contact.

Pamela-- so glad to hear you may be at the meet -n-greet. I cant wait to see everyone. Kelly--you said if we go somewhere after, you may be able to make it. I dont know if you seen the info i added to the M&G, we have a back room reserved at Anastasia's ( a sports bar type place). Many families are going there afterwards.))

sbchick--im sure its frustrating not knowing where your staying at yet. But maybe it will be the Ramada and you wont have to worry about getting a ride to the M&G, plus they have shuttles to PIR. I hear it can be pretty pricey to get cabs the whole time, not to mention the amount of time spent waiting for them. Hopefully everything comes together.

Sorry i keep posting ladies, but i feel so anxious tonight.

ok that sounds great.  and glad you corrected the mile/minute thing. I have been thinking about that and thinking holy cow twenty miles I got tired just thinking about running twenty miles...lol.....15 more days......
Potsie;  I know every time I sign on or  off my screen I see a picture of my SR and myself at the recruiters office the day he left.  I always say goodnight and hello to him when I sign on or sign off.  Can't wait to really see him!!
Oh my word, I'm getting so excited.  Only 16 days!!!

Holy cow!  Only 16 more to go.  Cannot believe it!  We are leaving in just 2 weeks from today to drive up there.  So very, very excited.  Can't come fast enough.

Hey ladies. I received a letter today...it was by far the WORST letter i have received. The whole thing consisted of how much he wants to get out of there, how much he hates the other boys who are causing trouble (why are they still there?) He said that they may be held back a few weeks because of these boys!! Has anyone else heard about this??? I think it is SO unfair that these boys get to continue on to PIR as if they havent done anything. My son says its like High School all over again.

I hope we get a call tonight. The way it is sounding in his letter, i wont be surprised if it is revoked. Im so sorry ladies to tell you all of this, especially if your letters were good ones, but i would like to hear what your boys are saying.

He said the 4th cant come fast enough and he hopes he doesnt blow his top by then. Uhhhgggg...i just want it to be OVER!!!

i did not get a letter but my sr wrote to his younger brother and encouraged him to stay in school and go to college. he said college looks so good right now and that the crap they are going throuhg right now realy sucks. he said  things are not good...I am so worried. Why arent they kicking htose other boys out. I hope it doesnt interfere with their calls tonight.  I cant wait to talk to him......

Potsie- OMG!!!!  My sons latest letter came Tues.  He wrote it on the 11th.  It was a very upbeat letter.  Had to do his 2nd PFA's.  Did excellent.  Now he just has to pass the last and most important one.  He got a perfect score on his weapons inspection and his uniform inspection.  Then he said they had another "big" inspection the next day.  Didn't say what it was though.  Also, they went to a mock ship and had to learn how to moor lines.  Said it was the most fun he's had since he's been there.  Says the rest of bootcamp is going to be a breeze and that it's going by extremely fast now.  He's very excited for BS even though they will be up for around 40 hours.

Never said a word about his division in this letter.  He usually will.  So, either he doesn't want us to worry, or for him it's going okay.  I don't know.  Hope the heck they get to call tonight.  I've been looking so forward to it!!!!  I'm like you Potsie, I can't wait for it to be over with too!  Now, I just have my 18 year old to go through it.  Ugh!!  Hopefully he gets in a good division.
