My son leaves on January 10th. Is anyone else leaving at that time?

I am suffering from slight anxiety.  Does anyone share my feelings?

We have been his recruiters new friends.. yep we were the stalkers .. acutally Justin was extreemly helpful and looked everything up when ever we stopped by .. So we had his address before the box arrived ..I found what I think is his grad date on this site.. not sure so we will confirm with Justin next week .. we have recieved 2 - 1 min phone calls - like I said the last one was a bit unexpected .. It looks like we have been very fortunate in this process.. His Dad was the one to talk to him on Saturday .. hopefully I will get the the next one - so I can hear his voice again..
So I guess I need to start stalking the recruiter, Huh?  Funny you said Justin, my son's name is Justin too!  I wonder if they are in the same division.  I am waiting on the first call, I have not talked to him since he arrived, of course it was short, I'm here, I love you, you will get the box soon, gotta go.   I wonder if our son's are in the same division.  I am trying so hard to get these navy terms correct.  Since I am new at this it is very confusing.
Justin is the recruiter we connect with .. My son is Stewart - and I am very new to this as well.. My son was in college and working when he came home one day and said I think I am joining the Navy .. at 20 this was unexpected - but he really researched his options .. and was committed to this idea.. Bootcamp seems a bit rougher than he tought .. so I hope he does OK .. Our recuiter has been a good source of information and support .. We met with him for a couple of hours before Stew shipped out and formed a working realationship with him.. he answered all of our questions and provided us with loads of information.. he was very strait with stew all along the way - which we apprecited  They have NO contact with your child - but can get addresses and grad dates ... Justin tells us the less he knows the better our son is doing ! So no news is good news ..
That too sounds familiar,  My son was also in college and working construction. He is 23, was approached at college about the navy.  Unexpected to me as well.  But again,k he too was very committed to it.  Said it was his best option, given the atate of the economy, his friends who were graduating from college were not finding jobs, with decent pay, etc.  I tried to contact the recruiter earlier today, no answer, guess the holiday?  Will try again tomorrow.  Hopefully, will get some info then. Thanks again for all of your info.  Keep me updated.  And  I will pray for your son, as I pray for mine.

I am honored to hold Justin in my prayers as well.. Looks like it will be a long couple of weeks until we really know what is going on.. have faith .. and remeber we raised some very strong young men... and they are facing the hardest part right now .. Stew's friend finished BC about 4 months ago- he is almost finished with A school and says it was the best decsion he has ever made .. I hold onto that - as well as e-mailing him when ever I am stressed out .. for comfort !

here is the link to what will most likely be your PIR group...join it and hang out till you get the form letter to confirm...LOTS of info there.

My son also left on January 10th from New Orleans.  He arrived in GL at 12:45 on the 11th/12th/  I received the Box on Friday the 14th.  I did not have to sign fro it.   It was just sitting on my front porch when I arrived home from work.  It was so hard to open it.  But I did, and I was able to smell him (on his clothes). I searched through the box, even his jeans pockets for an address, but there was not one.  Have not received one as of yet,  am writing letters every day to him, But have been unable to mail any of them.  How did you get the division and the grad date.   I am so wanting to start checking the days off the calendar.
I too am wanting the adress, I am calling the Recruiter today!  I want to get my son's letters and phone card mailed!!! (dont forget a phone card!  a fellow Mom said it is a must have!  I have not received my son's box yet.
Thanks for the info, AT&T? Yes I am calling too, hopefully I will get an answer.  I love the site, but have trouble getting to the most important parts of it, any suggestions?   I know it has been a long week for me!!!   Waiting, Waiting, Waiting!!!!
AGC   what parts are you having trouble getting to?

Now really problems, I just don't know which one's I need to be going into in order to obtain the most important information.  I love all of it, but right now which areas are the most important to me? he is in boot camp,  and I am so new at this so, all of these terms, and everything is so confusing to me. Suggestions?

Do you know his grad date yet? Join his PIR group when you find out what it is...there you will get lots of info.
