Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

One thing that I do that really helps is to use the tabs at the top of the page....groups is the best and at the top of the Groups page will have "All groups"" and "My Groups"...click on "My Groups" there you'll see the groups that you belog to. Under Discussions...click on "My discussions" that will take you to discussions that you replied to or started

The RTC website hasn't been updated yet this week. You should get his form letter this week. Try joining this PIR group http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir31111 there is a lot of info there, if that isn't your grad date then no big deal just leave the group and go to (or form) the next one

someone told me too go to costco for the pre-paid phone card. I believe it is AT & T but I will get back to you on that after I go to Costco. I am waiting suggestions from other Navy Moms as to what is the best pre-paid phone card, still no answer.

YES get them a phone card .. and in your letters I was told to put in stamps for them to use to mail letters back.. My son took the phone card - and that they let him keep..
