While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 09 Div. 073
Hey ladies, I couldn't find a discussion for div. 73 already on here, so I just thought I'd go ahead and start one. My DH is a section leader in 73.
How is everyone doing? I got a phone call from DH last Monday and got a couple of letters I think it was Tuesday. He's doing well and said the division is finally starting to shape up a bit and become more cohesive. I think this is a great leadership opportunity for him and he has really had to learn how to handle working with younger recruits for whom following orders and working as a unit is a big learning curve. On the phone he told me a story about having to report another recruit to the Petty Officer for back talk, and then ending up with the recruit being mad at him for it. There was much sighing involved in the story, lol.
Anyone heard from their SR lately? Heard anything about upcoming phone calls or when Battle Stations will be run for 73?

Hey there, My daughter is also in this div. She also has told me that they are starting to work better together. Which is what boot is all about. I went through in Orlando. I remember being frustrated with those who didn't want to work together and make a team. Teamwork, teamwork and watching out for your shipmate. Sometimes that means turning in someone for doing what they shouldn't so they learn while the consequences are generally mild. (although being cycled for hours is at the time NOT considered to be mild!) Still when they get out in the fleet they will have their lives and the lives of their shipmates in their hands quite a bit of the time. Learning to do with out knowing why is hard. What section is he the leader of?

Hi! My husband is in 073 he is the Recruit Master at Arms for the DIV. Said they are at a 4 of 10 when it comes to working together at a team. Said they lost 11 recruits since the start. I got a phone call last sat and last monday! My SR is 29 and is having a hard time dealing with the younger kids.....gets frustrated when they don't listen or keep talking when not suppose to. but over all hes doing good!

Ellen- I am not sure, he has not said which section, just that there's him and 6 other section leaders. I'll have to ask!
Heather, mine shares your DH's sentiments! He is 29 also. I'll bet they get along well. :) He has a gift for helping people learn and is so patient with people who genuinely try, but I think he is just really sick of getting punished for other people not listening when he was following the rules. I know it's one strategy they use (peer pressure) to get everyone to behave and cooperate, but I also know how unjust that can feel. I keep telling him to just let it roll off his back and accept the IT as something that will make him stronger and obviously more hot for me, lol. :D
