Hey everyone!

Nuke wife and mom of two here! My husband and I moved here in the end of October with our two boys (2 and 7 months). My husband and I haven't been on a date in ages and our anniversary is coming up. I was wondering if anyone knew of any reputable and reliable baby sitters in the area. We are looking to go out for an evening and would really appreciate any suggestions ya'll have! Thanks!

Have you met any of his classmates that are single. My son when he was in Goose Creek used to babysit for a couple often. He loved to get out of the BEQ and loved kids. Just another possibility to think about.
I have met several of his classmates and they are all very nice young men. They do however seem a little skiddish at the mention of children and being responsible for them. Thank you for the idea though!
Fleet and Family Service center on the base has a list of wives here that are certified and checked out by the Navy. They have babysitting services here on base. Hope that helps!

HI, I actually live in goose Creek on base housing. I'm 21 and Have a 2 year old as well =] maybe we could meet up one day and that way your kids could get to know me and play with my son and i would GLADLY babysit for your anniversary, or even just a date night. Hi, I agree to contact Fleet and Family for a list of their certified babysitters that live here on base. I have a 22 month old and one due in about 3 weeks. I'm 21 and would also love to get a playdate together after I have my baby. I moved here at the end of October as well, our husbands might be in the same class!

Hey everybody,

Thank you so much for all of your responses. They have all been extremely helpful. Kurt's mom I think I found a baby sitter for that evening but I will definitely keep your DIL in mind for future needs. Victoria theres a group on facebook  for playdates and such that you can join, let me know if you're interested. My husband is an EM and he graduated bootcamp the 15th of October when did yours graduate?

I will definitely find that group on FB. I am going to send you a friend invite on here so I can PM you. I actually think you might be my next door neighbor from seeing your kids ages and where you moved from.. Is your husbands first name Mason? I only know my neighbors last name so Mason doesn't ring a bell. My husband didn't actually get to do the ceremony but his PIR was Oct. 15. He didn't pass his prone float until the day after PIR.
Yes my husband's first name is Mason.Oh man that stinks but I'm glad he made it here!
Well, If he wasn't in Power School I'd recommend my son.  He worked for me at the Preschool I direct and he loves kids.  He misses his babysitting income.  He sometimes made between $15 and $20 an hour.  He still joke with me that he misses making the big bucks for just playing with the kids!  On a more serious note, I hope you find someone willing to and good at it because with kids that age GOd knows you need a break now and then!
