Hi this is Lorelei. My son is leaving for GL on 1-19-11. I can't believe it's already here. He's so excited and nervous about going and his dad and I are in shock. How did it get here so fast? Would love to hook up with anyone who's son is heading out on this date. We live in Oregon. It's cold here but not as cold as Chicago.

Try this site to link up with several who have sons and daughter's leaving yesterday or today. We are trying to get something going organized by "Beth" so that we can meet after bootcamp.

Let me know if you trouble finding the month (January) at the site mentioned above. Hugs to you.

Hi Rosalinda, We're doing as good as we can. Missing our son like you and the other moms. We have not received our call either. My son had 6 in his group. I would love to stay in touch. Wouldn't it be something if they get to know each other?
We will keep in touch because together we will all get through these tough times. And yes maybe our sons will become friends.
hey loriellen, we are also from PA and our son left on1/19. His box came in the mail yesterday, did you get yours yet? It is very overwhelming!
deb7363    your PIR date is most likely 3/18 here is the link to the PIR group   http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir31811   join the group...lots of info and support. If your PIR is 3/25 then just join or form that group
Hi, my son left on 1/14. We have received his box but have not received a phone call or any other info. I know things can change but I was under the impression that they would get to place a very short phone call just to let us know he arrived safely. Obviously he did or we wouldn't have gotten his box. I have been waiting for that call. The first 2 days after he left I sat by the phone. I was just wondering if they are allowed to leave a message on an answering machine. I also don't know when his PIR date is. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
seigler...did he have a phone card?
