Got another letter yesterday which was a real suprise. I was under the understanding that they only mailed their letters out only on Sundays, but could write Tues, Thur and Sundays. It was a very upbeat letter. He is happy for his new rate and will be doing A and C school in Pensacola. When he is done with C school he will be on a ship.
He said that their division will be doing graduation for PIR group 2/4/11. He is looking forward to doing that. I guess they got a SR back that was sent ASMO for fraternization. The division wasn't too happy about it and they didn't give him a warm welcome. He said that the divison is finally getting things done and doing teamwork and listening. They are worried this SR will set them back. They will take care of him though. They start live fire on Tuesday and alot of the SR are real excited. He also found out that with his job he gets automatic advancement to E4.
I'm a little late to the party here, but my son is in this division too.
I got a letter from him today saying that he'd applied for a 2 year hitch on the Constitution. He sounded excited, and it looks cool, but I'm wondering how this affects A-School. He said he'd leave right after Boot Camp if he got it.
Hello all you wonderful families/friends of Ship 02, DIV 912! I am a mom whose daughter is aboard Ship 02, Division 911... our division is graduating Feb 4th and I can't wait!!!
Well, I wanted to contact you to let you know I have experienced first hand the countdown to PIR and waiting/wishing for another phone call before BattleStations, or hoping to catch a glimpse of my daughter in one of the pictures of PIRs before ours! As the 900 divisions are the performing divisions, there is a possibility that your SR will perform at the PIRs one and two weeks prior to their own PIR!
One of the moms with a SAILOR in this past Friday's graduating class had snapped some extra pictures and sent them to us via email, in the hopes we may catch a peek at our SRs performing for that PIR. I would like to "Pay it Forward" by doing the same for you all, if at all possible. ;o) Now, here's a silly question ... anyone interested?! LOL
This week's Photo of the Week is of recruits posing for their division photo. About midway through training, recruits will don their dress uniforms to have their division photo taken together with their RDCs (Recruit Division Commanders). Recruits may purchase their division photo as part of their photo package that they have the opportunity to order during boot camp. If after graduation you would like to order additional photos, you may call the Navy Exchange photo lab directly at 847-578-6205.
