For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Well some of my questions are. Is there on base housing for A school families? and do they stay in Groton or do they ave to go to other places?

Hi, my family is going through a similar stage right now. My husband is currently in BESS and will be done sometimes in April. We've been researching on family housing (both on base and off base). My goal is to move there by July at the latest. There is a family housing resource center on base for your husband to go and get information from. My husband said that his A school will be about a year or so long so he wants me and our kids to move there with him. Also, he said that the Master Chief encourages wives/children to move to be w/our husbands. I think that we're going to go with off base housing. I found some apartments that has reasonable pricing and planning to fly to CT in March to check them out. How old is your baby? I have a 3yr old boy and I'm due to have my daughter late April. Maybe, you can share some of your knowledge with me later too ;) There are so many questions that I have and my husband doesn't have the answer to all of them either.

My son will be 5 months old on the 3rd. The good thing is that i am only going to be 6 hrs away from him so for a couple of weekends i can go up there and visit and look for housing, untill We move I think we are going to go off base, its not cheap but affordable. I bet its so hard to be away from him, its really hard for me. I have a question though there first call that they have is it always on sunday.

i have a question when r they able to leave base and also how long do u have to be at a school to get base housing. Is he still in A school?
