Son leaves for BC 1-19-11 anyone else out there?

Hi this is Lorelei. My son is leaving for GL on 1-19-11. I can't believe it's already here. He's so excited and nervous about going and his dad and I are in shock. How did it get here so fast? Would love to hook up with anyone who's son is heading out on this date. We live in Oregon. It's cold here but not as cold as Chicago.

We are from Alabama also and our son arrived in GL on the 19th. Did your daughter leave from Maxwell or Red Stone? There were 2 girls that went up with our son Derrick from Maxwell. We are anxiously awaiting to hear from him so we can start making plans to go up for the graduation.

Our son arrived in GL on 1/19/2011 also. He was scheduled to leave on April 4 and during the holidays they moved his date up to Jan 19. I along with all you other moms feel the sadness of our son being out of range to do anything for him. I know our sons are going to be much stonger after these next 8 weeks. One thing I do every morning before I begin work, I write to my son and when we do get his address I will have a letter ready for him that started the day he left. This allows me to not forget to tell him something that may have happened and also when he gets it, he will know that I am thinking about him everyday and I hope that will be encouragement for him. Hi im new to this site they finally approved my page!!...but anyways my boyfriend left 1-18-11 i seen that im not the only one who hasnt recieved a form letter im not expecting a box because he said he was just gonna donate his clothes ( i also told him that i didnt wanna receive his stuff in a box i didnt think i could handle it) we have 2 children together a 3yr old and 6month old....anybody else here who has a sailor gone and you have children together?

Hi Lorelei, My son left on the 18th, most likely the way the navy forms its companies they are together.  The time did come by fast.  I still can not believe it.  But yes, such a proud moment.  I am from Chicago originally, but we have lived in Miami for almost 10 years.  My son does not know what cold is... Well HE DOES NOW. :).  The good thing today is most of all they do is in one building.

I am ex Navy myself (4 years) and his father is retired Nuclear Submariner (20 years).  The cool thing about my son is he is going into the same program as his father so they have much in common.  

 

I do have a question though.  I see you have his ship and div already?  How is that? ... I'll choke his recruiter if he's not telling me. :)  Well Lorelei, it was a pleasure meeting you and this 8 weeks better move a little faster than what it is. :)
