Hello All and a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I hadn't seen a group formed yet for our ship, so I thought I would start one (Ship 02, Div 911 - USS Reuben James (PIR Feb 4, 2011)) so we all can be in touch! We have a special connection with band, choir, and drill team!  It will be great to share our experiences, stories and plans to meet up for PIR in Feb!  I'm a new Navy mom, and missing my daughter greatly right about now (as I am sure we all are missing our loved ones!), but am so very proud.  Let's chat!

hi everyone! my soon to be son-n-law is in ship 02, div 911 i checked you  all out early on but this is the first chance i had to respond! my daughter,  SR 's parents and sister are heading to the GL to see the graduation. luckily we live in Missouri so from their place in Hannibal it is only about a 5 /6 hr drive. i wish i was able to make it but i'm 4 more hours away on the other side of mo(k.c ' HOME OF THE CHIEFS').  I love your scarf idea i think it will be great! please look for him in the trombone section of the band.  from the Letter today we got (he sends my daughter a letter every sunday that is usually lots of little letters he works on each day, we always get them on wed tho) well anyway.. he says they had 4 days of regular training left , then they would be training for BS.. so that means that today would be the final day now so assume they are now concentrating on battle stations. which means no more time to write. We have also learned they are behind in what mail they have rec'd. he is missing alot of mail from what he has said.. cause my daughter and him are expecting and he has not gotten the "ITS A GIRL" letter which we sent on the 18th. Well I really wish i could have been able to make the trip. From what i hear he has made quite a bit of friends. You never know they could be a SR relative from here. lol he is  currently in one of the leadership roles of the div. SR Yarrington.  please keep me updated on all the great adventures you girls will be having. Good Luck, Be Safe and Gods Speed!
Hi Gina!  Welcome aboard!  ;o)  Yes, things are heating up right now and are very exciting heading into Saturday's Captain's Cup competition, Battlestations on Monday, "I'm a Sailor" phone calls home, then travel to GL to see our "SAILORS" on Friday!!!  WaaHoooo!!! It's really hard to hurry up and wait!  ;op  So, your son-in-law is a trombone player?!  Send me your email address in a private message on here, and I will be happy to send you the pictures another mom sent to us from the past Friday's graduation.  Our division should have been performing last Friday, and then will again perform this coming Friday!  I believe there were a few pictures of some trombone players?!  Maybe you-all can spot your SR in these!  ;o)
Welcome to this crazy clan of women Gina! We are so excited to have another. I know this must be a doubly exciting time for you with your son-in-law in BC, your daughter having a daughter and all that goes along with that! Wish you were joining us at PIR. What a celebration! I look forward to hopefully meeting your SR and family. Take care and stay in touch!
