This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During the 12 hour overnight drill, they encounter every situation that they might face when deployed on a ship.  It is a night of adrenaline and focus.

Up to 4 divisions can go at once, but sometimes only 2 or 3 go.  Brother divisions go together.  800 and 900 divisions go randomly.  They start with the lowest numbered divisions and move up.  They can start on the Thursday night, a week before PIR.  They skip Fri and Sat nights because of Captains Cup on Saturday (athletic competition between divisions...fun for them!).  They can resume BattleStations Sun-Wed nights during PIR week. Something a Chief said about Battlestations:

150-300 SRs go at a time, 3-10 of them will fail and have to repeat it, the most important thing is TEAMWORK. If the SRs keep their mouths shut, listen, and work as a team, they should pass.

The brother divisions in this PIR group are:

63+64, 65+66, 67+68, 69+70, 71+72, 73+74

804

912

"I'm a Sailor" phone calls will start to come in the day they finish, usually starting around 2 pm GL time and going into the evening.  They may need to complete PIR practice first so be patient.  Some may have watch and won't call until the next day.

When you get a BattleStations date from your recruit, post it here and I will add it to the schedule.

HOOYAH!

I had a brief phone call with my SR tonight (like 3 minutes lol) and I said I heard BS was the Tues of graduation week and asked him to confirm and he said yes, but he also thought it was going to last 48 hours so I don't know how reliable that is lol. I told him what I know and he was just insistent about the fact that he was going to have to be awake a very long time. Funny the things they fixate on. Hehe. Oh, he did distinctly say it was the 8th, though and all I had said was Tuesday...so I guess maybe he did know something for sure!
Thanks, MamaMiri:  They will be up for between 36-40 hours, so he is right about that.  But only 12 hours of that is spent in BattleStations.  They are finally able to go to sleep at either 8 or 10 pm the day they become sailors (I have heard both times).  As far as doing it for 48 hours, they may think that because they are told it is over 2 days and they will be up for a long time.  It is actually done over PARTS of 2 days (starting later at night on the first).  I think the RDCs keep them in the dark on alot of it. Thanks for confirming!
Thanks! That explains a lot. I thought about it later and realized he would be up for 2 days since BS happens overnight. He was very clear about it being the 8th, though!
Yes, he will wake up on Tues morning, about 6 am I would guess unless he has watch before that (some do and are up at 4) and he won't get to bed again until the next night. But they do it...they just run on adrenaline!
so excited my son has been talking about this in his letters im excited for him and cany wait until feb 8th to get that call
Cant wait to 2/8 for that call!!! got a call yesterday....he thought maybe sunday would be their battlestations....but this scheduled clears it up a bit for me..thanks!!!   GOOD LUCK to all our SR's for battlestations!!!!!!!
larrysmom:  What division is your son in?
Mamawalrus I to do not work but I do care for my mom so I am up often at night taking care of her so I plan to say extra prayers for them that night everytime I wake up to care for mom.
A letter from my daughter confirmed Div 67 is going on Feb 3/4.
Thanks, Lexsmom!
I have still yet to find out when Division 912 is going to BS.  Any news yet?  I am aware that the 900 divisions perform in I think tomorrows PIR and 2/4 PIR.  Do they usually go before the other divisions?
No word yet, himmiemom.  If you hear anything, please post the date for 912! They can go at random times.
