Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son said he is "classing up" in class 1121.
Anyone else hear about class 1121 ?
I assumed it was starting on Monday February 21st, but that may not be correct.

I know my daughter is planning to class up for EM A school. Is that what you are referring to?

It may be the same class - if she gives you a class number starting with 1121 with a letter, or two letters, after it then she will be in class 1121. The class number is part of the mailing address so we will all find out what their class number is at some point. Their address will change from "Class # Indoc" to "Class # 9999 A" or "Class # 9999 MT" or something like that.

Right. Do you know if his a school is MM or EM?

He is training to be an ET and he indicated that both EMs and ETs from his boot camp division are going into the same section, which is MT. Which is how he explained his mailing class number which is 1121 MT. My husband speculated that MT might indicate that the EM and ET sections are combined for most of the class, but he has nothing to base that on.

Your husband is correct and somewhere halfway or 2/3's they will split in two seperate classes. If there isn't enough of them to continue they will hold for a week and join the next class behind them. That happened to my son . His part of the class of EM's was too small so they waited to join the class behind them (the ET's went on) which made his grad date a week later. Glad I hadn't bought my plane tickets for graduation yet.

My son is 21 and was away at college for a couple years, and I still worry. My daughter is 17, and, if she wanted to, could be in Goose Creek herself in less than a year. Not sure how well I would handle that :)
Did she start class this past week as you expected ?

Irene, my son just classed up and is in class 1121MT, his rate is ET. We live in SC and are going to Goose Creek tomorrow to spend the day with him. If you send me a private message with your son's name I'll ask my son if he knows your sailor.
