Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Contact his recruiter on Tuesday to see if he is in the system yet and if so he can give it to you. I feel for ya sister. Our baby left on the 16th also but they actually took him the night before. He called when he got to IL. and said he could not call again for about 3 weeks. I got his address three days later and have written everyday since.

My one and only child, my baby girl, left for boot camp 2/16/11. Her recruiter has been my life saver and connection to my daughter. The Navy gave her purpose and determination. She is the light of my life and I miss her every day, however I take courage and faith knowing I have raised a responsible and caring individual. She is determined to succeed in the Navy Path that she has chosen for herself. With faith and her God, she will conquer everything that is put before her and become the leader she was destined to be. I close every letter with the last line from her favorite childhood book "I will love you forever, like you always, as long as I am living my baby you will be!" She is my only one and I can only put her in the Deity's arms and ask that they shelter and keep her. Let her keep the faith and succeed. Go Navy!

Hello Cheryl, You have taken the words right out of my mouth ....and I have read that book to all my three kids...and my dau who also just left for BC on 2/16 this was her fave book as well.....

I didn't recognize that, what book if I may ask was that from. I have two young grandchildren and it sounds like a book I may want to get to enjoy with them...

Hi.my daughter Ashley left on the 16th too.. I went to MEPS in El Segundo, CA and saw her being sworn in. I was so happy they let us take pictures and give them last minute hugs..but it was really hard! She whispered don't cry Mom, and of course I was...but I told her they were tears of pride (ya right!), anyway..it hasn't even been a full week since I actually last had contact with her..but it seems like FOREVER! It totally sounds like youy know what I mean!!

Hooray! I got a letter today! My son said graduation will be April 15th. He also said the first day was horrible as he went 40 hours with no sleep, but it's been ok after that. I am so happy to hear from him!!!
