Thanks Rose! I have decided that I am going to BESS graduation...N was really minimizing it, but I basically told him that I really wanted to go and he said ok. Lori said you will be staying at the hotel on base? I'm going to try to follow through with that too. I will have N check into if for me. Do you know what time graduation is? N seems to think it is around 10 am.

Hooray...Penny is going to BESS graduation!!! Penny go to the Groton group page I found a mom her name is Heather she went to graduation last month I had asked her a bunch of questions...she replied back with some good info on BESS graduation...if you have a hard time finding it go through my groups to find the info.
Penny.....graduation start at 8:00.  I was talking to J and he told me he need to be in the classroom huh!! at seven like BC a little before graduation.  So far the plan is to call him around 6:30 and he will come and meet us in the gate and in that way is more easy to get in.  Like Elizabeth said this mom at the Groton group went and she confirm that start at 8:00 but because (I can't remember the reason ja, ja) they move it to 9:00.  She also confirm that it take around hour and half.  I'm getting there Thursday night (plan at the beggining was Friday noon but everything change due to BESS) and I will stay I don't know yet.  And Friday after BESS it will be in Navy Lodge.  I really like it when I went to PIR.  Very clean with the little kitchen and tax free.  I'm paying $75 but like I said tax free.  Is going to be very nice to meet you and Elizabeth.  18 more days to go ladies, yay!!!!
Penny - I quoted $54 - that is for a room without a kitchen.
well my son got his phone yesterday:) i got to talk to him and text him i feel so much better:) he loves Groton and seems really happy. that lifted a big weight off my shoulders and i acually slept good last nite ::::) thanks everyone..for all your help.

Yay! Theresa, you definitely will feel better now that he is in Groton...there is a really cool video out there about BESS! I loved it and it helped me understand what N was going through. I will try to find it...someone posted it early on...anyone remember what it was????

Thanks Lori and Rose...I think that the room without a kitchen might be fine...I will be there a very short time...I will have to come back Friday, I think. That is my plan for tomorrow...to finalize those plans.

Penny

I talk to my son Monday night and he never mention what I found.  A article from Military News stating suspicious package was found in Groton. Gates shot down for a couple of ours and this Friday is a graduation and they are going to provide transportation from a parking (I think I read the museum) back to Groton because they are doing a intensive search to who ever want to go through the gate.
Rose, where did you read about this? I haven't heard about it until I just read your post. That is SO scary, especially considering how difficult it is to even get onto the bases (I am assuming that Groton is as difficult as Great Lakes). Scary!!! Thanks for letting us know!!
NDG...Somebody posted at the Groton group.  I don't know how to put links but if you go to the group you will see the article.

Hey guys...I don't think that is anything to worry about...I will send you both a private message explaining.

Penny

Ok, I have my room booked for graduation at Navy Lodge. It was $74...I asked for the $54 room...but they said they didn't have any for that. (?) Oh well, I just hope that N will not have a problem meeting me to help me get signed in. I won't be getting there until around 8 pm.

I'm excited...even if he is downplaying it! :)

Penny

$75 - hmmmmmm, well rats.  A booked Ashley's room and is paying for it maybe that is why it is only $54.00.  Not sure.  Will know more after Ashley's visit and yours and Roses.  Keep me posted what you learn so I am in the know for my April visit.  A was going to security today to talk to them about Ashley's visit.  By the time I get there A will be in ATT.  Know there are 2 class options - day and night so if he gets night it will make a difference in our visit.  So will play it by ear......

A's package that got returned.  I took it to the PO on Weds. and explained about its return.  The PO was so nice.  They let me readdress it to A's new PO and resent with additional charges to me!  Additionally, A went to the base PO and explained about Ashley's missing package and they found it in the back room wrongly labeled.  So all is good with our packages.  A should get his civy clothing package on Monday (I hope) and I'm sure he will be thrilled to receive.  He doesn't know I resent it as I want it to be a surprise.  I told him a sent another small package to "test" his new PO before sending it.  So a little white lie!
