Hey Maureen, thanks for responding.   I have not heard anything from my son as of yet. I would love to know of whats the closest hotel to the base.  I would love any information at all.  Do hope to meet you on Graduation Day.  What a day thats going to be!!! Thnks again  Claudia :)

Hi Claudia!  My son also is Ship 04, Division 808 and graduating April 8th.  Have you gotten a real letter yet?  I got the form letter last week with those few blank lines - not much info, but at least I know he's okay.  He said they were up the first 40 hours.

Hi, Claudia.  My son is in this Div as well.  Still no letter, but I am hopeful that this will be the week.  I will be leaving for DC with my younger son this week, so it will probably arrive while I am out of town.  I made our flight reservations this week, so we are getting ready to go.  I'm planning on making the hotel reservation tomorrow.  Hope to meet some of you at PIR.
Hi Penny.  We made our plans as well.  It seems so far off but feels good to be planning our trip... I absolutely can't wait!
Hi Claudia.  Welcome.  Im new too.  My son is in Div 807.  I hope to get to meet so many of you in April.  Us moms need each other :}
Hi cocojazz!  hope to meet you also in April...Im still awaiting for that mailman to deliver someting... Has anyone recieved mail from ship o4 div 808???
Whats going on with 808?  Why no letters yet?  Have you received any calls?  I feel for you.  Hang in there.  Im sure we'll all have our turn at the waiting game.
My son is in div 808 and he called Friday.  He said letters were mailed this past Thursday. Did not say why the mail was held up though.

We got a call too but I was so sad... we missed the call. We were just not expecting to hear from them until Saturday or Sunday - But next time we will be ready! I guess the letters got held up because the guys were having a difficult time working as a team. I can only imagine... all these guys who are obviously highly driven and motivated self starters.

hoping they all start pulling together...

Hi all friends in PIR 4/8 (I sent this to my friend list, but it actually should have been to this division-sorry if duplicated)

I just got my FB invite and I'd just like to say, for those of us in the 800 divisions, it might be best to use this as our Navy FB and use the other FB for our private lives.  I just don't trust who FB is sharing information with, and once Special Ops recruits get deployed, I think we're not going to want our FB conversations (which are kept permanently) stored on their server.  You'd also have to remove pics of your son and I like having my son and how he's doing on FB for my personal relatives and friends.  It's all a personal choice, but I kinda like having our own personal Navy Facebook right here.  Am I being over protective of my privacy?

Thanks for understanding, or trying to understand why I'm not going to accept invites on FB. Hope you're all doing well.  I realized this AM I can't send my son his letter to day, it's a holiday for some, but I"m off to work! :-(

Diane

Thanks for the heads up, and something to think about.  Its really strange to have to think of those types of safety issues.  Id rather be safe than sorry any day.
Please use this site for all info regarding your recruits, as spec ops you are advised not to post anything in regards to your recruit on FB which is a public site,  If you have not seen or read the OPSEC rules please let me know and I will post them for you.  But even in this forum anyone can read what you post whether they are a member or not, so remember no names, or info about training, etc.
