Double checking, are we officially going to burgundy?  Has anybody heard when they will ship out to A school?  Do they get the weekend off?  Can't wait to meet everyone...

They should have at least the daytime off over the weekend. If they move over to Pre-Buds on Fri. then they may get liberty the whole weekend, even the nights. So i hear we should be prepared that they may b able to stay with us over night.

Oh, and, yes, we are doin burgundy.

Just got my first call!!

My son told me that after graduation they move their stuff to Pre-Buds. He said he is pretty sure they have to report back at night though. Glad you got your call TexasSailorMom!!!
I believe cmbarba and sailormom are one in the same... someone correct me if I'm wrong!
i think so too
I got my phone call!!! I hope everyone is getting their phone call this evening!! He sounds totally exhausted, 18 hour days of training!! He is doing well though!!  I miss him so much!! One month everybody until we see our babies!!!!
I feel bad... my phone didn't register his call and went straight to voice mail... ugh!  He sounded good though, just bummed I missed him.  Hope they get to call again soon.
Oh Mom2four, I am so sorry you missed your phone call.  I hope he gets to call you again soon!!

Our SR left 2/6 from the Florida Keys and then the following day from Miami.  He's in ship II/DIV 119.  PIR is 4/1, which is also his 19th birthday.  We haven't received a letter yet....  I am anxious to hear from him.  I know that no news is good news but still wait for that first letter.

Does anyone know if there's a meet and greet the night before the PIR for families to meet?

I do not know.... I think I read that some hotels have gatherings for the families.
Just got my second letter... he sounds down in this one.  He got 3 of his wisdom teeth pulled and it wasn't a good experience.  I hope that they get to call again next week or that his next letter sounds better... ugh, this is the really hard part.

Mom2four, Sorry he sounds down. I know how upset that can make you as a mom..  I'm sure they all go through their days of missing home and their "normal" life. I bet the next time you get your letter it will be better. Hang tight Mom...they don't have much more left, 28 days!!
