Hi,

Me and my husband are former Navy and our son has folllowed in our footsteps and left for bootcamp on February 23rd.  I see a few people on here, but maybe posted too late, so I figured it'd be easier to start my own post.  I was so excited to finally be allowed on the site today!!!

My son left Feb. 23 also and I was just allowed on site today too!  I'm so anxious to get a mailing address for him.   Have you received the form letter or box of belongings yet?  It's so good to have someone to share with!
No, I haven't received anything yet, thought I would though since we live in Missouri.  Just the 15 second phone call... I'll keep you posted.  I agree....nice to have others to share with!
My son is going to be a Corspman...what about you?
OMG!!! I got a phone call today!! And it was very brief but he gave us his address.  Basically, it was because, in his words "Because his division kicks ass" lol
My son left on Feb 22.  He called my husband today (left a voice mail) stating he was assigned to a ship.  Unfortunately, he did not mention which ship/div or provide an address (or at least my husband did not mention one).  This is the second phone call since he has left.  We got a quick one when he arrived at BC.
I would assume it's probably the same ship...Ship 3 Div 143.  As they normally don't get phone calls this early, so it's probably the same division.  That is really neat!
I hope so.  I think the packet went out today so I will know soon.  That would be great to know someone else on NFM whose son is in the same division.
I got a phone call and address today!  I was so excited and shocked to hear from him so early.  He sounded great but a bit tired.  I'd love to connect with others in our Div.

my son left same day from Oregon...I'm awaiting his box with address so I can mail the letters I've written. I have no idea yeat when PIR is..you?

proud navy mom

My son told me on the phone that PIR is on April 22.  I haven't received official notice yet nor received his box but he did give me his address.  Do you know his ship and division numbers?  You may be able to get them from his recruiter.
Yes, I got his ship and division when he called the other day.  Got his box today... Can't wait to get the next call!
my son's pir is also 4/22 =)
