Of course, I'm trying to find out as much as I can and will continue to post. I know some of the hotels are closer but I'm concerned about the daily traffic after we get our SR, as 12 Divisons graduate same day. (That is a lot of people when you do the numbers)

(mxerswife) Congratulations! How wonderful to have a new addtion coming this year as well as having a husband make such an awesome commitment, what a great year for your family! You have so much to be proud of!

(cocojazz) (mxerswife) Yes, I feel fortunate to be so close to BUDS as they progress. It is amazing to watch how hard these young men work (unbelievable really)  Hell Week lights up the beach for 5 days of 24/7 training, it really is someting to watch!  I hope I can give updates...

If you didn't get your letter yesterday, I'm sure you will have one today or tomorrow.

PS. I still cant figure out how to respond on this thing.

Thanks! We are so excited to be having a baby!

P.S. Still no letter :(

=(  Wow, that is tuff!! My son joined with a friend from 808 and no one has heard from him either. He did say they have crossed paths a few times but they are not allowed to talk or write them. Not sure why that group is not writing or calling,  even  a delay in getting PIR info to his family. Maybe this week, seems calls and letter are starting to come in.....hang in there, I'm sure he is doing great!

Hey Becky E..... I finally heard from my son yesterday and he finally recieved his mail yesterday.  They have been keeping our sons and daughters very busy...Cant wait to recieve a letter... He was excited to hear that I had joined this website... Staying at the Navy Lodge for PIR.  Ddid you make you accomaditions yet? Hope to meet you on the 8th!

Hi Claudia...That is GREAT news! I know it has been torture waiting! It has been an adjustment for me to go from knowing where my son is and what he is doing daily to not hearing from him much at all and when I do he answers 2 of the 20 questions. ha ha

He was laughing when I told him about the website and how I can gage if I possibly have mail in CA by who has received mail on the website.

Yes, were staying at the Residence Inn Chicago Lake Forest/Mettawa. Its about 9 miles from base because I was concerned with the daily traffic. I'm trying to find a place we can all meet for breakfast on Sat. morning? This will give us all the chance to meet while we wait for them. From what I understand they wont be out early on Sat., they will be moving across the street before they get leave for the day.

My son is in div 808 and called yesterday.  He earned it by something he did.  He said their letters were mailed this past Thursday, so hopefully we will have something early next week. He did receive several of our letters this past Tuesday.  Of course, they opened everything that was thick or looked like a card.  Told us not to send pictures because they look like contraband.
WooHoo!  finally heard from Div 808.  My sons girlfriend called me at work and told me he called her.  I'm so glad to hear something.  she did say that they posted some pics for all to see!  so...no pics that may cause grief!  Glad everyone is starting to hear from the guys and cant wait to get the letters!
Can you tell me how to view the pictures they posted?

Oh how do we view pictures that were posted?

I know, my son had the experience of his uncle sending a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, and they kinda embarrassed him with it; I guess you could say.  He said, his uncle shouldve at least ripped out the pics and put them in a letter :)
My son said anything that is thick or looks like contraband is opened by them.  He was called in to watch them open the mail.  My younger son sent him a card, so they opened it too since it didn't look like a regular letter.  I think he is wanting to avoid any unnecessary meetings at this point.  Some suggestions were to send pictures, so I just send a page of pictures from his going away party.  of course, husbands are not always the best at relaying information, so I will feel better once I am able to talk to him myself.  At least, we know letters are on the way!!!!
Isn't your husband in Div 808?  My son called yesterday and said they mailed letters Thursday.
